Lukesky Neutral Newbie May 6, 2008 Share May 6, 2008 (edited) My workshop has also made a switch for me for both connection from the Camera and DVR from the main battery power source to prevent battery flat if park the car for 2 days and above. Wow bro, u really spent quite a fair bit of cash on yr CCTV system. Good for u! This 'switch' thingy that prevents your car batt from being flat if u park for 2 days and above, what is it exactly? Is it a normal on/off switch or is it a smart switch than can monitor the health and voltage of yr car batt and auto cut off if the voltage is too low? Carlover76 Neutral Newbie May 6, 2008 Share May 6, 2008 The switch is a normal ON/OFF switch which you can turn off the main supply so that the camera and the DVR will not draw power supply from the Car battery as they are connected directly to the main source. I have change the camera bought in Sim Lim Tower from the shop named Continental as I find the resolution is not so good, I bought the camera from Prestige Security when I check out the system, I notice that they are selling the CyberCam Plus now and the guy told me that CyberCam are provided by him to those shops in Sim Lim Tower and Sim Lim Square, not sure how true it is. Lukesky Neutral Newbie May 7, 2008 Share May 7, 2008 Oh okay. so you'll still need to manually turn it off. But since the guy assure u that it won't drain the batt too much in 1 day, then it's fine.

Carlover76 Neutral Newbie May 7, 2008 Share May 7, 2008 The specs are very poor as compared to the combination of my setup. Camera is not IR capable, SD card only support up to 2GB, Frame rate only 6fps. The Camera that I get from Prestige Security is also from China and it support IR. DVR called Secumate supports up to 8GB or even SDHC 8GB SD Card and Frame Rate up to 25fps. Cost of Damage for DVR is $350 and Camera is $180.
