[sweatdrop] - I took some 1 hr to 1hr-half to wash mi car [blush]

Haste make waste, and swirls too.... [:/]

Washing is the fast part, drying is the one that kills [dead], esp. door jams, rims... Use a real synthetic chamios - not that orange thingie...autogylm exp. but good....

Having tried many shampoos (Autoglym, ArmorAll, Polyglaze) NXT - [thumbsup]

Reverese Rank Order

ArmorAll - forget it

Autoglym - good but exp. That's why at this place.

Polyglaze - does its job. cheeep cheeep cheeep. Esp. if u get 2L from Giant, C4.

NXT - kim kim kut kut. Suds well. Clean well. Sheets well. $17+ w/o offer for 2qt so not that exp (vs. AG's $20 for 1L)

I'm currently using Optimum car wash, great product with good suds, cleaning power and great smell. It does not strip wax and leaves behind a great finish, its concentrated and a little goes a long way. Downside is, its pretty expensive and there are other car washes out there which can produce the same results.

My fav car wash so far is still Meguiar's NXT, great car wash which is reasonably priced.

Armor All's New Car Gel(red colour) is not too bad also.

I went to autobacs. But they only have gold class and few bottles of foamy types. Where else can i get meguires nxt? Btw, after using the chamosis to soak up water, do i have to uuse microfibre clother to wipe away?

- C4

- Stamford

- HomeFix?

- Giant?

Yeah - somehow autobacs no stock. Correction, actually they do, but they sell those one pkg type. One bag, with sponge, wax, etc. [hur]

Hope that helps

actuallyif you calculate carfully... the nxt require one oz for a gallon of water which is 30ml for only 5L of water where else autoglym only requre 20ml for 10L...

so in terms of the concentration level i think autoglym is more concentrated and overall if you calculate one bottle of nxt can wash about 32 times and autoglym can wash 50 times (that is if you follow the correct dilution level stated on the instruction)

So i guess autoglym is still better value not that i support AG cause i myself using nxt but using AG SRP & EPG...

Am i correct?

thanks for the info southpark.

so in the end i got autoglym. i have use 1 bottlecup for a pail of water. And yes, its good and shiny as recommend by u besides nxt. Before, i m mixing Glare 88 with water for maintaining my old corrolla. not very effective..i would say. IMO, better to get a proper car shampoo.. for the ease of use and results.

think it costs about $16+ for a medium size autoglym bottle. cheap?

alright another qn, after soaking up the water with chamosies(bad spell). Do i still have to use a microfibre cloth to wipe the body of marks??

[:p] - Glad u all hav good results wif Autoglym and NXT. Can't go wrong wif either wan.

[thumbsup]

And yes, $16+ is cheap for autoglym. Normal retail is ard $19+

Which camois u using...hopefully not the cheap orange bulk types. Best is autoglym wan. Else, Series 500 is cheap and no-frills. The rest not so worth it. A hint, see if the cloth looks plasticky. If it is (e.g., is ArmorAll), dun go for it. Not good.

- Soak and wring dry.

- Then place it flat on car body to soak up the huge globs of water.

- Then taking two corners of the camois, drag cloth toward u.

- Finish off remaining water with a wipe.

- When lose absorbency, wring dry and repeat.

- When see cloth a bit dirty, rinse with water.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

If you're getting marks even after washing, it might be due to:

1) Residual tree sap

2) Car shampoo not rinsed off completely

3) Car surface was too hot when you washed the car

4) Car is not cleaned properly

Usually, after washing my car, even if i don't dry it off immediately, there still isn't any water marks left. I wash my car under shade and if I had just driven it, I usually let it cool down 10-15 mins before washing. You just don't want the car shampoo to dry up before you have the chance to rinse it off.

Hope this helps since I'm not exactly sure what type of marks you are getting.
