  4. I do my own washing of my car every other week. Looking for cheap and good car wash shampoo that comes in economical volume. I don't need fanciful additives or wash and wax (do they work anyway?) Best if can order online with free delivery.
  5. I have experience lost of hydrophobic effect on a 6 months coating due to the amount of dirt and dust trapped on the surface and only used of iron removal then I am able to recover it..You will be surprise parking under a tree during heavy rain will leave a thick layer of bad elements on the surface. So what is the best cleaning solution to use weekly or bi-weekly as a maintenance for PPS to lift off the dirt? Shampoo? plain water? etc? Detailers would advise only wash with water after PPS, waxing or sealant or the most a PH neutral shampoo.. I did a small test to see how much water, shampoo and a solution O( I shall not name the product as this is not a sponsored thread) lift the dirt and clean surface.. The pictures are taken with handphone..Pardon me for the lousy pictures. The car roof surface are marked with solution 0, water and shampoo. Next I prepared a capful of shampoo, a capful of solution in the grit guard bucket and water in another bucket 2 clean wash mitt, one for solution O, one side for water, another side for shampoo on second wash mitt.. Some visible soiled watermarks on every surface before wash I soaked the wash mitt into every solution, squeeze some water out of it.. Surface washed using the wash mitt with the respective solution. Sorry to be continue later, going for my hobby...

  7. Any one tried this Jackie Chan endorsed product before? does it really work?
  8. This one LINK I bought it from Autobacs around $20. It does not say that it contains wax like those wash and wax types. However, after using it, my wipers judders abit and friction is higher. Anyone using this also, share your experiences. It claims to use natural ingredients and there is this coconut smell like nonya kueh. I don't get this smell after wash though.
  9. Hi all Recently, I've some pimples on my scalp, can I know whether using any shampoo will reduce the pimples? Thanks in advance..
  10. I purchased optimum trial packet yesterday and washed with its car shampoo today. Most car shampoo that I have used, suds or foam die off soon and is like washing car with simply just plain water. Was quite amazed that this optimum car wash is very concentrated, producing lot of foam. I filled a 4 gallon pail of water with 1 1/2 capful shampoo. GPGT. Finished washing
  11. care to share where to get those super duper minty shampoo?? Those when you rinse off, will send you into convulsion . saw these Clear shampoo by a footballer but only to realize its for anti dandruff...... , me lucky no white stuffs on hair .

    Car Shampoo

Hi to all the detailing gurus, can check whether is there any wax stripping car shampoo in the market...other than mama lemon and is there any car shampoo in the market without any wax content in it? thanks in advance!
  14. I just finished washing my car, and got to know this very nice outspoken guy, who was there watering down his ride. And he shared with me he had not every used any form of soap or even wax his car (a gorgeous white Avante). He shared with me using car shampoo or wax will stripe away that layer of paint protection, which will result in quicker deterioration of the paint finishes. Is that really the case? After all, I basically use my Zymol shampoo + water to "flush" down loose dirt on my car, then very very light gentle washing with shampoo again, very clean sponge specially reserved for the purpose. Then after again flush away the shampoo with water and really gentle drying, with good quality cloth. Surely this is good enough without being damaging to my ride? And done once a week is it too much? Please share your opinion...
  15. Dear All, I enjoy using clay for styling hair but always have issue of washing it clean from hair. Anyone has good solutions to wash clay cleanly away from hair?
  16. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/autogeek_1970_73936217 http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/autogeek_1970_70760086 After much reading on the popular Poorboy shampoo.. I decided to give it a try and did a comparison with DG#901.. here is my little review.. A non bias review... a) Both have good suds and foam.. One cap of DG#901 will make up 3 caps of Poorboy SS to give the the suds and foam..of cos I dun measure the exact amount of the suds.. B) Poorboy has a nice peach smell and DG has a strawberry smell but sometime it smell like cough syrup to me c) Both have great cleaning..slick and shiny finish.. D) I try DG and Poorboy SS with claybars.. My personal feel is DG has more lubricant in it and goes well with claybar..On the other hand..SS I find it hardly has lubricant and the claybar seem to get stuck on .. I try both soft99 and erazer..and is the same.. E) Both does not strip LSP.. leave a smooth finish...
  17. I have used a few... and so far I like the green Armourall Heavy Duty shampoo. I notice it cleans pretty well and stops squeking on my windows. The one I really do not like is the Meguiar soft wash (pink). Doesn't have much bubble or clean off any dirt.
  18. my optimum car wash shampoo is running out and i was wondering what car shampoo should i try next, or even to stick to this. the only "complaint" i have with this is that it doesn't foam much at all, very little foam, feels like you're washing only with water sometimes. previously i was using meguairs' NXT. fire away your recommendations boys...
  19. Hi Bro/Sis, Got my new car before CNY, and am thinking of washing and detailing my car this weekend. Can anyone pls recommend which brand (shampoo and detail kits) is the best and give the best result for my Honda Fit White color (normal white)???
  20. Seeking expert advice here as lazy newbie and also not into detailing. Just want to have a simple shampoo application for fortnightly wash and hopefully, give some shine and/or protection. I note there are wash & wax shampoo being sold (currently using the 3M normal car shampoo). Are they any good when compared to ordinary car shampoo? Saw an old thread about such shampoos and note that it causes the wipers to jutter when used to wash the windscreen though that can be removed by another washing of Mama Lemon. If there are good brands around, can recommend? TIA.
  21. Guys, Just wanna check which shampoo is good and strong enough but will not strip off wax? Currently using the Polygaze car wash but find it not so good, do give me your recommendations, thanks.
  22. Hi all, Me Black GETZ got splattered by acid rain yesterday ...ugly spots appeared thereafter . I have done some preliminary cleaning to remove the spots (with just water) . Am going to take up E46RadX's recommendation to clean the car with car shampoo next . Any recommendations for car shampoo? Nothing too strong or mild...something just right for optimum cleanliness and shine Too much of a tall order?
