  2. - ABOUT US - GK Detailing Pte Ltd was incorporated on the 16th of May 2017! Back then, we were known as Ace GK Pte Ltd, providing premium Ceramic 9H Coatings to owners who are looking at premium grooming services and high end workmanship detailing shops. Over the last one year, we have quickly and successfully established ourselves as one of the best car paint protection applicators in the market! Our reviews on our workmanship and customer-orientated services were excellent and undisputed as we continued to upkeep our high standards. The bosses of GK Detailing have been in the car detailing business since 2016, having had experience with different brands of Ceramic 9H Coatings and Paint Protection Films! The never-ending pursuit of looking for brands that are better has allowed the bosses to grow the company fast, as customers in Singapore can be very particular about the product used on their car. As such, GK Detailing promises to provide Ceramic 9H Coatings that are of high quality and yet, affordable to the masses. On 15th October 2018, GK Detailing became the sole Approved Applicator of NANONIX, a premium brand of Ceramic 9H Coating from Japan. NANONIX is genuinely made in Japan, has proper certifications from SGS - the world's most trusted testing company - with regards to the hardness of NANONIX Ceramic 9H Coating to provide customers with an ease of mind when choosing between the many brands out in the market. The decision to represent NANONIX was to adapt to the everchanging landscape of car paint protection here in Singapore. With the change in branding, we were able to cater to the Premium High End market and also the more Affordable Middle Range market. Despite these changes, GK Detailing continues to upkeep our professional skills and excellent workmanship, doing our utmost best for our customer's cars! On top of only just providing Ceramic 9H Coating, GK Detailing also underwent a full day of Paint Protection Film (PPF) training on the 11th September 2018, held on our premises by HEXIS, a premium PPF brand from France! HEXIS BODYFENCE is a high-quality PPF that promises to increase your car's gloss level, while protecting it from environmental hazards! PPF is superior to Ceramic 9H Coating, and this has made more and more customers turn to PPF due to its rock chip protection and self-healing properties that Ceramic 9H Coating lacks! With these constant developments and addition of value-added services for our customers, GK Detailing became a full-fledged professional Detailing Centre that provides Ceramic 9H Coating, Paint Protection Film, and Vinyl Wrapping! One of the secret formulas why GK Detailing is able to upkeep our quality customer service and highly intricate workmanship is due to the stability in GK Detailing. 5. Paint correction is also known as swirl mark removal, machine polishing or buffing. The definition of paint correction is the removal of all imperfections in paintwork, such as scratches, water marks, dried bug remains and fading to reproduce an as new condition or better. The process is undertaken by a professional detailer or someone with quite a few years experience in understanding how the structure of paint is applied on a vehicle. It involves the use of a machine polisher, a selection of abrasive compounds and an assortment of buffing pads, together with regular checks with a paint depth gauge whilst polishing, to keep record of exactly how much paint is being abraded away. Why Consider Paint Correction? A car鈥檚 paint has to endure a lot of challenges thrown up by the environment 路Traffic grime and grit 路 Tree sap, industrial fallout, bird muck, dead bugs 路 Road Tar 路Water spots (Rain-waterspots) 路People brushing against the car with their clothing or bags 路Poor machine or hand polishing techniques 路Cheap and nasty car washes Sadly all of these things can leave the finish of a car looking less than perfect and at worst, dull, faded and covered in light scratches, swirls and other marring. Those things detract from your car鈥檚 appearance and ultimately reduce its value. Will Removed Marks Reappear? NO. Any marring is permanently removed by our paint correction techniques, so the marks cannot reappear. New marks may appear over time (we can鈥檛 stop future scratches), but we鈥檒l provide you with free simple advice to help limit future damage caused by wrong technique of washing and making sure you keep the paintwork in top condition all year round. At NEW AGE POLISH our services are designed around you. We provide car care packages to suit your needs, so that we are able to polish your car whenever you feel it is needed. 6. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/self-disinfecting-coating-that-lasts-for-3-months-applied-to-all-hdb-lift-buttons?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=STFB&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1585822526 SINGAPORE - Residents in Housing Board flats who have been using their keys or other objects to prod lift buttons during the coronavirus outbreak can now set their minds at ease, as a self-disinfecting coating that lasts for three months has been applied to buttons in all HDB lifts as well as lift lobbies in Singapore. The coating, called sdst, kills bacteria, viruses and fungi upon contact and remains in place even with repeated scrubbing and cleaning, as chemical bonding agents help it to adhere tightly to surfaces at a molecular level. It is sprayed on surfaces in liquid form like regular disinfectants, and is safe on human skin. Teams from Singapore's 16 town councils applied the coating in lifts over the past two weeks following a donation of 650 litres of sdst by the Changi Airport Group's (CAG) philanthropic arm Changi Foundation. This amount was found to be sufficient to coat all 1.5 million lift buttons in Singapore's 26,000 HDB lifts. Dr Teo Ho Pin, coordinating chairman of the 15 People's Action Party town councils, noted on Thursday (April 2) that a large proportion of Singapore's population - around 3.2 million - lives in HDB flats, and that lift buttons are one of the most frequently touched components in housing estates. Asked if there are plans to roll out the coating to other public areas, Dr Teo said: "We know that residents have been very concerned and we are focusing on high-risk surfaces such as lift buttons for a start. So let's see how effective this solution is." Now that the coating is in place, he added, residents should avoid continuing to press lift buttons with hard objects like keys, as this could scrape the coating off. Sdst is manufactured in the United States and has been approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency. CAG has been using the coating for frequently touched surfaces in Changi Airport such as lift buttons, touch screens and trolley handles since February. "One of the challenges that our cleaning partners and staff face is that you can step up training and increase the frequency (of cleaning), but there's always an exposure time between cleaning when someone can come in and contaminate the surface," said CAG airport operations management managing director Jayson Goh. "So the good thing about this coating is that it creates a protective shield over the surface, and this was something that we wanted to extend nationwide with the help of the town councils."
  7. Paint Protection (PPS) coating such as ceramic coating/glass coating comes with 3-5 years warranty protection. Is maintenance needed annually or after 3 year? Or if it a apply and forget coating? Anyone send his car back to recoat annually and etc? I use to do that for car wash. What are your views, thoughts and advise? Necessary or waste of money?
  8. Hi all, last year my new car was coated (i paid over $1k for it) by one of the more reputable coating companies. Car was only 2 days old when it was coated. 6 months later, there were scratches on the boot surface, and water marks on boot, roof and bonnet. The applied hydrophobic effects on the windscreen is also gone. I sent the car back to touch up. Another 8 months later, I had to respray certain panels because I cannot take the scratches. Yup, some ppl scratched my car. But besides that, I have many lines near the door handle, and lines on the bonnet and boot. I've never put anything on them. The guy who repainted my car told me the water marks on my car very bad. I told him cos I park outdoor daily, thats why I know. I did coating to prevent, also cannot. I have to send it back to be re-coated. So after 1 year 2 months of ownership, I don't think I get what I paid for. Maybe coating is not suitable for people who park outdoors. Am I the only one who feels that coating was over-rated? Or it has limited capabilities when it comes to handling the harsh weather, especially for people who park outdoors. What could be a better solution? (besides clean the car everyday! haha)

Naisol ZR53 Car Ceramic Coating (DIY)

A colleague of mine raved about this after he applied on his new car. Despite the good things, he did complained that he needed to use his polishing tool to remove the hardened layer on a small segment of the car body after he took too long to buff it away, which he shared was only about 1 minute. But other than that, if follow the instruction to the T and be very kiasu to buff it straight away after applying, it will be alright. So I read online on this product for awhile to know what I am getting myself into. Actually I have just paid $550 for a coating but I was not very satisfied with the finishing as its hydrophobic quality was not really great. And the more I read, the more I am impressed, especially with the many positive reviews posted. I knew that they can't be all false as my colleague's testimonial is real one. So subsequently I took the plunge to get it on Amazon, paying about $100 with delivery. But applying it took some effort as need to cater for curing time of 2 full days meaning must have good weather and able to do without car for at least a day. So when all the stars aligned, I manage to do it but met with a few hiccups. The day I applied leave it was cloudy and threatening to pour, and I manage to start only at about 2pm after the sky started clearing. As a result I worked till 830pm under insufficient light condition, and missed a few small spots as a result. Applying was straight forward enough. Just dab the small bottle of liquid onto 1 of the 10 cotton pads provided and wipe on the car body. Divide the car into about 10 panels and use a pad for each panel. After apply the coating on a panel, use a clean cloth to buff it off straight away. Sound easy and indeed quite easy to do. But as the liquid dry up very fast, the wiping off (buffing) must be done within 20sec else it will harden and will need to use polishing tools to remove it. Sound scary haha. The process started quite promisingly. I worked on the bonnet first. As the Vellfire bonnet is very small, doing it in 2 parts worked very well. But when it come to the 4 doors, that was when got headache. As Vellfire doors are huge, I should have divided into 3 panels but I was abit impatient and tried to do it under 2 panels. So when I finish applying the coating and got to doing buffing straight away, the time taken for the coating to dry was too long as started to harden causing hazy look to happen. I quickly hasten the buffing process and manage to reduce the damage. But can see a small fist-size hazy spot already. A bit sian, but I pressed on to do the rest of the car as no turning back already. As the instruction was not to apply on glass surface, I applied on all the plastic parts including bumpers also the wheels. The morning after, the car body felt smooth, unlike the $550 coating job I just did which is the norm. The smoothness is akin to doing waxing. I was quite relieve that it went well after checking the car, could see a few hazy spots but I have learnt to take it easy. Next time will do it better haha. It had been about 2 months since I applied the coating, and the hydrophobic effect still very strong as expected. And the car definitely feel more slick and washing is much more easy. Once you spray water, it will just rush down. The leaf blower will definitely be able to dry the car very quickly. On hindsight, I should have divided the bigger panels into more sub panels to do the coating, and get someone to help if possible. If one person apply the coating, and another do the buffing will be perfect. In the market under DIY category, I would think only Opti-gloss come close. I have applied it before. Comparatively easier to apply, but seems the effect not as strong as this ZR53 coating. But as this ZR53 is not so forgiving when it comes to application, Opti-gloss would be suitable for those doing it the first time. I will definitely buy this ZR53 again in few years time to redo the coating if I am still holding on to this ride haha.. Read up the reviews to understand more about the product if you keen to do. Bear in mind that if your car is not new, you will need to polish it first, else all the imperfections will be locked up for the next few years. But nonetheless there is still merit, as your car will be much easier to wash and will not get worse haha. Bottom line is that this Naisol ZR53 is definitely worth the effort if you want to protect the paint of your car but not willing to spend more than $100. You will agree that this is the best way to spend the $100 after doing it up haha. https://www.amazon.com/NASIOL-LOVE-PROTECT-ORIGINAL-Protection/dp/B0722MCBBT/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1532656848&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=zr53 https://www.nasiol.com/nasiol-zr53-nano-ceramic-coating

    Sensha and Ceramic Pro 9H

Hi all, I am cross shopping between these 2 products. Sensha is about $840 (8 years warranty) and Ceramic Pro Gold package is $1660 (7 years warranty) What are your thought? Specifically, is there any difference in the coating technology? Should I go for the cheaper version? Thank you.
  13. Anyone here still wax their car to give additional shine even though paint protection coating has been done? Will the wax damage the coating? Any suggestions of any mobile car clean and waxing service if I don't have the energy and time to DIY? Thanks!

    Testing & Certifications

Tested, Approved, Verified, Certified by SGS Car detailing products from the common market always claim their product has film thickness, but the coating is barely visible by naked eye, therefore, everyone can do their own ultra-marketing. To assure our quality to our customer, we brought KubeBond Diamond 9H to SGS to do the thickness measurement, they also informed us that, normal film thickness measurement tools are not capable to measure any film below 10碌m, by contrast, you must measure it with Optical Microscope and magnify the specimen 1000 times. This information blows a lot of bluff on the market. Optical Microscope test reports from SGS indicated that, 5 layers of Diamond 9H average thickness on the panel is 3碌m, which is anti-graffiti ready; specimen of 10 layers Diamond 9H reached 6碌m is already scratch resist. Hydrophobic Windscreen/Glass Coating

Hey Guys, Are you all fans of glass coating? I love the rain drops flying away effect with one! I'm currently using Glaco because its roll on applicator is easier to use than the Rain-X in a bottle. I feel they both have similar results. Please share what you are using? Also, any more permanent solutions? I currently have to re-apply every month. So many PPS services here but I don't see much talk about having hydrophobic glass!
