Pisces69 6th Gear January 13, 2002 Share January 13, 2002 Hmm... normally the wiper wil jerk when theres not enough rain(lubricant). How come yours opposite leh? Some brands quite good like NMW or something like that. Made in japan. Also some wiper jerk when new but will become better after some time. Normally if you have super good wiping, it wil jerk. Especially if got wax on the windscreen. Can try a little armoall apply on the rubber. Used to help for me sometimes.
Sky8807 1st Gear January 13, 2002 Share January 13, 2002 I think it is not the wiper that is the problem but your windscreen. Give it a good cleaning, use newspaper if you like or give it a good rub down. Should improve
WaLau Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 Also, try not to use RainX or something similar !... many claimed it cause wiper jerk !
Sky8807 1st Gear January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 this one confirm. when the protective layer wear off, wiper jerkkkk
Huggable Clutched January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 I used to have this problem with my previous windscreen . What I did was to use washing powder to wash the windscreen carefully, every other day. It did help (maybe 50% better), but can't rid the problem totally. Lucky thing was that the windscreen cracked, and I've got it replaced. Now I always make a point to tell the car groomer *NOT* to do anything to my windscreen! Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Author Share January 14, 2002 NWB wipers cannot fit my car, mounting clip too small. I used OEM Bosch, Bosch tropical blade and Trico and all jerks. I concluded that it's nothing to do with the wiper blades as the sweep of the blade is clean and does not streak. It must be my windscreen Thinking whether to use Ammonia now....... Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Author Share January 14, 2002 I've seen and heard about the newspaper trick.....thing is should I use the newspaper dry or wet?

Yongwd 1st Gear January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 brudder, try lubricating the wiper link, wiper motor with grease. It helps a lot. My oldie mazda used to have this problem but gone after I did some lubrication on it. Maybe u wanna try? I tear out the whole wiper link, remove the pivot, grease joints and snap back the pivot. Reinstall and problem permanently gone. After that my car wipers swing faster then usual! :) Talk about wiper blade, Champion, Piaa and Anaco are good ones but seldom see shops selling these. Gavin u wan me diagnose your wiper problem? I have "turbo charged" my wiper motor before. My wiper jerks like on super panic every time the rain gets heavy. I see a film deposit after the wiper sweeps and have tried these cleaners so far: - mama lemon - autoglym glass polish - JIF - Vinegar - pure alcohol - thinner/spirit All did not help, wipers still jerking like siow I even changed three different sets of wiper blades, one wiper arm and now empty pocket with jerking wipers HELP!!!!!! Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Author Share January 14, 2002 Shag brudder, got time U can help me? Let's try tearing apart my wiper cowling and lub all the movin' parts
Ghostrider 3rd Gear January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 Before you tear out your brick....try this... Use concentrated wiper fluid to clean both the wiper blade & the windscreen. For the blade, leave the washer fluid to dry & on the windscreen, use a damp cloth to clean the fluid off. The concentrated fluid helps to condition the rubber blade. I am using the one from Autosol......
Huggable Clutched January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 I thought newspaper is to make the windscreen cleaner? It has something to do with the ink on the newspaper. I've cleaned my mirror using wet newspaper, then dry it using newspaper also ! I've seen and heard about the newspaper trick.....thing is should I use the newspaper dry or wet?
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Author Share January 14, 2002 Yah, something to do with the ink.....perhaps can clean off the grease/oil film left on my windscreen!
Huggable Clutched January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 One fine day I was driving in Changi, while approaching a bend, a bus from the opposite direction threw a stone onto my windscreen. After I stopped my car I saw a star on the windscreen To be frank, I was more happy then sad about the incident. My wipers have been skipping ever since it came out from the last car grooming. The new windscreen doesn't have this problem . I just apply a thin layer of Malaysian "Rain-X" on the far driver side so that water will flow down the windscreen faster in case of rain. U mean your Sephia windscreen cracked b4??? So now with the new windscreen don't have this problem?
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Author Share January 14, 2002 Where did U find the Autosol fluid? I have the Gold Eagle one and have used polyglaze before as well.
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Author Share January 14, 2002 Blessing in diguise? So you claim the free windscreen from your insurance? Malaysian "Rain-X"??? Perma Glass issit?
Barakian Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 Instead of Rain-X, try Zaino-ing your windscreen wif Z2.....seems to work. Can use Rain-X on the windows and rear windscreen (provided you dun have a rear wiper). ↡ Advertisement
