This traveller must have something in his passport that raised the suspicisons of the immigration officers. For a CIA officer to be involved, should be espionage or rather counter espionage for the americans. Esp if he was seen and spotted at the wrong place (middle east) at the wrong time with the wrong people (clients may be target of interest for the CIA, which the CIA officer duly noted and sent it back to langly.

 

Normally, Sg passport very useful. People see you from Singapore, they wont give you trouble.

 

Was in aussie recently. was clearing immigration when the couple in front of me who were muslims got stopped and pulled to one corner. from their way of speaking, knew they were from boleh land.

Yeah, u a ABSOLUTELY RIGHT with one point - LOOKS! Looks is darn important man. Being neat or being shabby really makes the difference when approaching the customs/immi officer.

i would say it's generally quite true that many people "give face" to the s'pore passport lah. maybe this guys is just unlucky, or maybe he has travelled to dubious places? we just won't know.

Well...more than 1/2 their population thinks Singapore is somehwere in China... Guess that's how 'smart' they are.

 

My wife used to work in Texas and had a chit-chat with some of the locals there.

Many had not traveled out of their country.

I have spoken to Aussies who thought that Sg is in some part of China!
