Any It expert who can recommend any FREE simple software to prevent unauthorized installation of program/software on a network PC.

 

There are a few PITA recalcitrant CB kia staff in my company who always sneakily install p2p software and hog the bandwidth.

 

I am tired of this war of attrition. I uninstall, they reinstall...and it goes on and on...apply, lather, rinse, apply, lather...you get the picture.

The thing is that PC has a program that cannot run on power users rights so very mother son who has login rights is a fxxking admin.

i want the PC to be locked down in its current form. no new installation of unauthorized programs.

tat's why i neber allowed the PC here to be networked... I just let them load watever stuff, get trojanated n they will b puffed.

their access is also admin, they will undo.

 

i intend to install a control software when they are logged into the PC to curb their tendencies to veer towards p2p.

i think maybe net nanny or something similar (with password access ) will do cos i intend to let the local mgr control after i am done installing the restriction.

i will take it up with the IT admin if i cannot find a simple program to do this.

 

but sometimes i wonder if they kawan, kawan so when i am not ard...they will temporarily allow the dl to resume.

give user user rights only.

 

write a script to run the application with admin rights, use "run as" command.

 

compile the script to executable to hide the admin password.
