Thats what I told myself.

Cool off and drive off even he gave chase

on foot.

Because of his chasing, I made a detour

and didnt enter the carpark as I am afraid

something might have happen to me and my car.

This driver really didnt give room

for explanation and negoitation looking

at the way he wanted to alight his car

with his wife hold his shirt.

When he gave chase on foot, I keep

thinking if he could chase me all the way

to NPC and we can have a mutual understanding.

If i have really cause him to brake hard,

he can choose to explain to me.

But not take evasive actions to vent

anger and fustration like this.

Looks like want to wack poeple

like that

you should stand on your ground and face him, so that if he makes any move, you will have a better story to bring to the police and have him charged for road rage...

or unless you got video taped down the entire chase, on car and on foot? why he's so mad? it might be either you did something really bad to him (in his POV) or he got ultra big ego, and your cutting into his lane triggered it off

IIts the same driver. He was in lane #1

and I was moving in parallel with him

before I decided to sped up and switch to lane#1.

So that makes me wonder did I provoke him

by cutting into his lane?

So after I am in lane#1, he highbeamed and horned

me whn his at my back.

So That really provoke me alittle but

I thought its someone that I know.

I turned on my hazard lights and moved back to

lane#2 and he pass by me.

Is it so difficult to overtake FROM the back? cmn lah, for sure u have offended him.

You like it when u walking fast on the road or shopping mall and someone suddenly walk in front of u and cut in, forcing u to stop abuptly?

People have interia. You know what is interia?

You did the right thing.

Based on your description of the situation, it wasn't worth trying to reason with him. If he wanted a fight, what do you do? Lay him out and get prosecuted?

One thing though, as the earlier poster commented, if you know you're in the wrong, quickly volunteer an apology signal without the other driver having to give you the death stare. It will often defuse the situation and if they don't accept then just move on.

Some times it's not worth reasoning things out with irrational people.

If I have remember correctly, I overtake him

and I did not cause him to E-brake

nor even take other action.

I really didnt know that his aftermath

is so frightening.

You know you cut into the lane of an oncoming car, yet when the driver horned and flashed you, your first thought was that he was someone you know and not that the driver was signalling his displeasure?

Then when you thought the driver could be someone you know, your first thought was to pull over at the side and on your hazard lights?

Unbelievable.

Do you always pull over with your hazard lights whenever you hear a horn, thinking it's someone you know?

Even if it is, what is so important that it warrants you having to stop on the road there and then?

The driver horned and flashed you, but you deserved it for cutting into his lane.

It's normal for any driver to horn and flash when they encounter such incidents.

But you aggravated the incident by pulling over at the side.

It's really nonsensical.

I don't know if you truly stopped with innocent intentions as you claimed, but I suppose a good number of drivers would read your actions as signalling the other driver to pull over and stop too, coz you're unhappy about his horning and flashing.

Maybe not yet at this point, he might've thought you might have abruptly cut into his lane because you needed to stop to alight a passenger at the side (like what taxis do), explaining your stopping and your hazard lights.

But then you went on to follow behind the driver after he passed you.

Now you got the initially just irked driver really mad.

He decided to stop by the side and find out what the hell you want.

I don't know if it is sheer stupidity or pure innocence which made you move to his side.

Actually I don't know what you mean.

Do you mean you stopped in front of him or behind him, at the side of the road, or you stopped beside him, in the middle of the god-knows-how-many-lanes road?

If you never intended to get out of your car or talk to him in the first place,

then why did you stop beside him?

You mean by now, you still don't know that the driver was fuming at you?

Or you thought that he stopped because he wanted to make friends with you?

And then right at the end you say you didn't stop because you didn't want to provoke him into an argument or fight. [rolleyes]

Yes, you were right to drive on and not stop to avoid worsening the situation.

But everything you did before that was wrong.

Had you not pulled over with your hazard lights after you were horned and flashed for cutting into someone's lane, the driver would probably have just gone on his way and forgotten about you after cursing.

And you wouldn't have this thread to start.

Moreover, when you pulled over, the car passed you and didn't stop.

Had the driver meant any ill intentions from the start, he would've stopped and confronted you there and then. Well, it could be his wife egging him to drive on and heck care.

Either way, he chose to ignore you and drive on. Then you went to follow behind him.

Need I say more?

I hardly log on nowadays and haven't posted anything for a long time.

Then I saw this thread, and I find it so incredulous that I couldn't help but type out this super long reply.

Hopefully, you can digest it well.

Just waive hand to say sorry...

I was near reared by a BMW6 on last Sat...

Me lane change to centre from 3rd lane, while the 6 lane change to centre from 1st lane.

M6 was faster and I heard loud horn + angry face. I waive sorry...defused the anger...M6 waive back as well.

Some time, sorry seems to be the hardest words...
