Read today New Paper and was surprised that Spain forward, David Villa is eyeing to come to Liverpool this summer to be with Torres...... [smash][smash][smash]

But he won't come cheap and Valencia is asking for 30 million Pound..... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

His first choice is to go to Asernal but since Fabercas haven't confirm staying at Asernal, he choose Liverpool.

If Villa did comes to Liverpool, then the strike force of Liverpool is greatly improve to fight for the League Champion.

Ole..... to Liverpool Fans

If Pool were to buy him, then they can forget abt buying anyone else this season to strengthen the squad. I dun think they can afford Barry and Villa together.

I thot Valencia's asking price was surprisingly a bit on the low side given that he is the star of the tournament. I thot they would have demanded something like 40M or more..

ESPN Soccernet Reported : Villa happy to wait until price is right for Barry.

Aston Villa have told Liverpool they are under no pressure to sell skipper Gareth Barry until the price is right which will be in the region of at least

well, he can turn his attention to Villa and grab only him..but is that the wisest thing to do?? I dun think Liverpool's problem this season is in strikeforce..they scored more goals than Chelsea even though they finish only 4th..I think defensively they have bigger problem..they lost points this season more due to not defending well rather than not being able to score..if got a dreamstrike force of Villa + Torres but team defensively unsound also no use..its better to get a few players to strengthen each dept rather than just buy 1 big name player but ignore rest of other departments..

the part about Fab cannot be true. since when arsenal buy 30 million player? arsenal usu. link with just about everyone, but when it comes to buying, will buy a complete unknown for 5 million pounds

Another report : Lampard's our No.1 target, says Inter's Moratti

Inter Milan are hoping the Jose Mourinho factor will be enough to lure 'number one' transfer target Frank Lampard to the San Siro this summer.

The Italians are already feeling the benefit of Mourinho's appointment, with season-ticket sales for next season 30% higher than at the same stage last term.

Moratti also hinted negotiations with the Stamford Bridge outfit may have already started, adding: 'Has there been contact with Chelsea? I think there has but I don't know yet.'

Moratti was less forthcoming about other names being linked to the club.

Barcelona's Deco, who was a key member of Mourinho's Porto side which won the Champions League in 2004, has also been touted with a move to Italy.

While Moratti admitted the Portugal playmaker was a player he liked, he suggested the competition would be fierce.

With Arsenal, Man U & Chelsea losing top players, it is not a bad ideal for Liverpool to pay for David Villa with the money from Xavi Alonsoso as to increase the chances of winning 2008/09 league..... [sly][sly][sly]

Yup. I agree. I think 30 mil for Villa is a bit too much. I would rather use the money to get Ramos (no offence Man U fans) then maybe the leftover get a good backup striker, eg. Henry? (Dreaming again!) Pools got Kuyt, Babel. So, I think we dun need another big $$$ striker, unless DIC wants to come in to play fantasy football with Chelsea, then I got nothing to say.

(edited)

Liverpool is in 33M deficit..

Transfer budget I dun think they can afford more than 20M after offloading Alonso for 14M..Rafa can buy Villa with the money recoup from Alonso and add a bit..but unless they sell more players, dun think they can buy another one. I dun think its sound to buy just a top striker and ignore all of the other departments. you can't win title by having a really good department but the others just ignore..

Part of the reason why Ars collapse last season is also becos they tend to overlook the importance of defence..

Man U so good in recent yrs is also becos Fergie left no stones unturned in the last 3 yrs for all 3 departments..they wisely strengthened defence (Vidic), attack (Tevez) and midifield (Hargreaves, Nani)..and Fergie showed that apart from having a top attack, he also intend to have healthy succession for defence by replacing the ageing Neville with Ramos..

Vidic, Rio, Evra and Ramos in defence is [thumbsup][thumbsup]

IMO, Villa is slightly over rated. he did'nt score much in spain either.

but i may be wrong. he may be like torres, who's more suited to a faster style of play. just look at the goals he scored in the tournament so far... trademark torres.
