Sky8807 1st Gear May 27, 2002 Share May 27, 2002 (edited) Hi to all, Anyone know where to recommend to service/repair VW or skoda aircon problem. Suddenly, no cold air last night when come back from visiting friends. Check for leak, not leak found, check fuse for blown no fault found. Look like need some special equipment to detect fault. Anyway, not driving today, another problems is my PC harddisk completely crashed after logging in for a while. Managed to recover and now running win98 instead of ME. Look like a troublesome holiday for me. This is my first defect owning a fabia. Worst still the piping and aircon system seem to be original (czech) and local aircon mechanic will find it difficult to troubleshoot. Fabiaman 1st Gear May 27, 2002 Share May 27, 2002 Hi SKY8807, spent the last 5 minutes running through the yellow pages. Found the air-con shop that is highly recommended by few of my (unrelated) friends. Their opinion of the Tomika is very good: Tomika Auto Air-Conditioning Category : Motorcar Air Conditioning Equipment Address : 3023A Ubi Rd 1 #01-54 Singapore 408717 Contact : Tel : 6746 8128 If you want, tell them you are recommended by people from the Serangoon Country Club people... that is what I told them when I was there over 1 year ago. My friend who asked me to go there told me to tell them this "password". Hope this helps.

Yongwd 1st Gear May 28, 2002 Share May 28, 2002 i suggest pressure sensor failure. If u can find the pressure sensor, use a small jumper wire overwrite it and start the aircon, see if the compressor clutches in? Trace the line but unable to locate the gas screen.Did not hear any click when on or off. the rotating disc look the same
Sky8807 1st Gear May 28, 2002 Author Share May 28, 2002 Drove to JTA to collect my key code around 3pm and drove home after 5pm. So far aircon working. Don't know why now okay leh. Hope it stay that way, thank God is okay now. Actually confirm with my friend, the compressor seem to be turning without a clutch when air-con on or off. Look like it is internal mechanism that either supply cold air or not. Also check for sight glass, cannot find. I heard from walter, he say some car don't have sight glass, one example he quoted was a volvo model he encountered b4.
Sky8807 1st Gear May 28, 2002 Author Share May 28, 2002 Thanks for your suggestion. look like no need now. You troubleshooting of the possible fault seem logical and practical. But I wouldn't dare to jump wire to start it. Play safe.
