Throttle2 Supersonic July 31, 2008 Share July 31, 2008 can , no problem. Meet at range to try. the new Marina range off tanjong rhu is nice indeed. for young and strong player, graphite shaft may be too whippy although it is more forgiving. Ping is not hard to use. It is "custom" fitted. I pick orange dot due to my swing angle and height of 170cm. That doesnt mean than someone who is shorter or taller cannot use the set. ISI Nickel head uses a nickel head (duh) so the feel is even softer than forged iron. It also has big big cavity back to increase the sweet spot. The Nickel head was the top range of the ISI series. the only "disadvantage" of the nickel head is that it hits 5% shorter becos it is softer. People choose the Nickel head for feel and control. Maybe this weekend if you are keen.
Kianbeng Clutched July 31, 2008 Share July 31, 2008 You also bought $300 for the whole beautiful lot? Actually it's worth alot of metal for the $300. Why have to stop? Can't he collect it when he go for his rounds of balls?

I am abit too strong (goes gym too much)and coach says a stiffer club will suit me better.. based on that... what do you guy suggest? Also my main prob is i tend to slice.. but i do not really wanna buy a closed club. I rather try to practice and remedy my flaw.. Throttle, I will call you.. this weekend may be a bit difficult but i will def arrange to meet up with you.. (seems that you always got things to sell, from beemer to clubs!) A-Klasse5 Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 My take is as a beginner NEVER get a stiff flex. If you really want it, you must constantly generate a high-speed swing with accuracy. Ask yourself? Could you withstand hitting all the shots with high-speed swings for 18-holes. You might even give up golf at the end of the 9th hole. As advised by many, you have to enter the green with the golf sets, after few rounds of tries then you could then ascertain which sets is likely to suit you. When suiting a club, DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF. You may hit it very well in the driving range but it may be different in the green. Assess? Is the rubber mats "support" you? Did you constantly hit on the sweet-spot. You MUST MUST die die enter the green to experience it yourself, then you would know. In addition, psychologically, choosing a set you like/prefer would boost up your confidence and this indirectly could allow you to play well. Last but not least, have fun experiencing all the different clubs! (Not intentionally wanting to sell: Very MINT condition CALLAWAY BIG BERTHA 2004 Iron-sets with Japan Specification (meant for Asian) graphite regular flex shaft 4/5/6/7/8/9/10/W/S with PANWEST warranty-card intact to certify the authentication. If keen, PM me) Cheers
Chrispie 5th Gear August 1, 2008 Author Share August 1, 2008 Haha.. thank brudder.. that is very good advise .. then like that.. how am i ever to buy a club? Some how must just humtum and get 1 first..then trial and error rite.. I see myself prob gg to spend quite a while at the range just to get my swings ok even on level ground... if i cant even do that properly, gg to green straight away is silly also since there will never be a consistent platform for me.. but your big bertha is very attractive.. hehe.. how much you looking at? PM me?

Throttle2 Supersonic August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 chrispie dude, will be waiting for you this weekend. Generally, graphite shafts provide for more forgiveness to a novice player. so most people do go for graphite from the start. it's easier to hit with and lighter to handle. so between steel or graphite, consider this. If you can handle steel clubs, graphite would be a breeze, really. However, my opinion may be skewed as i've been using steel clubs for last 10 yrs. =================== Steel = Manual car Graphite = Auto car =================== anyway at this stage, I do recognise that what you truly need is simply a decent set of clubs to discover your own unique style, be it graphite or not. Do not at any point, think that your beginner set will be your permanent set. Be ready to spend on another set or two once you have discovered your own. But once you find the set that suits you, you will use it for years to come. since your budget is $450 plus minus and I'm trying to clear space in my games room Price for you is now reduced to $450. p.s. the PING ISI nickel heads are offset to reduce slice
Chrispie 5th Gear August 1, 2008 Author Share August 1, 2008 Bro, is this how your irons look like? http://www.golfreview.com/cat/irons/ping/P...34_2940crx.aspx very interesting colour! or this? http://www.golfreview.com/cat/irons/ping/P...35_2940crx.aspx
Throttle2 Supersonic August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Yes, the first one with normal size head. But the one which is reviewed is the copper head. Mine is the nickel head, which is light champagne gold in color. see you Sunday
Alcapone Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Something about clubs that provide more forgiveness and offsets is that, the player does not know whether he is hitting his shots with the correct swing. But, I guess it doesn't matter if the player having a good round of golf.
Klein Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Well as some had advised you, try not to go for something to stiff. Anyway I was like you thus i ended up using stiff from the start even when I am learning for my PC. My coach did not say much as he is abit old school kind, "When you can hit it well, who cares if it suit or dun suit?". Anyway I also have 2 set of clubs but I will not ask you to buy as they are on TT X100 and project X 6.0. Those might be abit too stiff for you. However, all my clubs are all steel shaft and mostly are TT S300 and only one set is TT R400. Pls note, all the clubs I have besides the Honma all are forged, so if you are those kind that can easy "ding" your clubs, I would advice again :) Will PM you the models that I might be selling. thanks klein Wah.. haha.. so overwhelming ah.. Klein Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Not really true if you are using steel, graphite would be easy too use. I am like you, had use steel for a very long time. When I tried my friend's clubs which are graphite, I am not able to control my swing well and will slice quite easily. The worse is that the distance is super not consistent. Out of fun, I had tried a old driver with steel shaft, wow the feeling is good but the distance fall short, even shorter than my 2 hybrid :) ↡ Advertisement
