Singer Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 I read with interest the other thread on Do's and Dont's during this month As per the above, taking into account how auspicious some group of people are when it comes to date/numbers, against the present condition, would you make 'big' decisions within this month or otherwise... For example, getting hitched, moving into new house, register/set-up a new company etc Well, the word 'big' is subjective but in overall would you or would you not. There is certainly no right or wrong answer. I am asking to test the ground because there could be a few 'strategic' decisions I'd have to make involving my partners and these decisions could have bearing on other matters. I might share later on what is the situation I'm in... Kamxia... ↡ Advertisement
Damienic 5th Gear August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Iam seriously considering to hold wedding banquet for my future wedding during 7th month.. firstly, its a lot cheaper.. secondly, no need to make booking too early..for example, quite likely I can still get a venue to hold during 7th month if I try to make a booking, say during april or may.. Finally, after some discussion with experts before, its not true that major events such as wedding or moving house have to be avoided at all cost during 7th month..there are still selected auspicious dates to hold during this month and as long as the date was chosen correctly, very likely there would be no 'repercussions'.. Rickster 5th Gear August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Scully everybody also think like that and you'll be surprised to find that during 7th month, its just as difficult to book a banquet location as well as high price
Rayleigh 6th Gear August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Maybe you need to allocate a few empty tables for "friends" ......Just kidding
Damienic 5th Gear August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 hmmm..very unlikely..there is absolutely strong stigma abt the 7th month among singaporeans..and some couples do not have an issue with it, rather, its their parents who is dead against the idea.. Singer Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Author Share August 1, 2008 I think it boils down to belief I have some friends who are atheists. They are quite heck care when it comes to these supertitious matters
Damienic 5th Gear August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 (edited) some people might be atheist and they dun mind but if their parents were to object strongly, most of the time they will still follow the wishes of their parents and not make them angry.. for my case, I think its possible cos my parents also do not subscribe to the beliefs that holding wedding and moving hse during 7th month shld be avoided at all cost.. Singer Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Author Share August 1, 2008 If that's the case, it borders along humanitarian matter now, with some element of culture - respect Hmmm... now I have to factor in the involvement of a 3rd party Wow, how 'dynamic' this belief is. Thx for highlighting
Ellf Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 I guess that it depends on that person's perception on things. ↡ Advertisement
