And i think it looks ... if you look closely at the side profile, its merely just a major reconstruction of the nose and rear end. The rest of the car is the same although the interior is brand new.

 

Wonder how the GTi and R32 will look like...

The VWs will defintiely follow the design cues of the scirocco.

 

and i reckon most will choose the scirocco rather than the 3dr version of this new golf

I didn't expect VW to completely re design the Golf. It's a winning formula. It appeals to both the young and family.

 

This next gen Golf has corrected some of the current Golf's shortcomings and I believe they will do something about it's handling and rear suspension (become even better).

i wun say its a complete redesign.. its basically still the same shell with only a few new panels, and new lights at the front and rear.

 

I was expecting the new golf to look sharper and sleek like the new scirocco, but i was disappointed.

if i didn't remember wrongly the 2.0TFSI Scirocco is cheaper than the mkV GTI?

but hor, Sirocco is strictly a 4 seater..and boot supposed to be smaller than the Golf..

it may be cheaper but it also is less powerful. it uses the current GTI engine while the mkvi golf GTI will make 230hp. So it depends what one really wants...

A Golf is a iconic car and more practical, a Scirocco is not.

Golf GTi is better.

230bhp. 30 horses more. 2l engine

more gadgetry with knee airbags, park assist, bluemotion (auto switching off the engine at traffic light)

Better EPS and some other saftety distance functions
