Hi guys and girls. [;)]

Anybody faced this problem before?

My front left speaker and tweeter will intermittently go soft. Now is all of the time (almost no sound). But when I blast music, it will distort a bit then come back to live! [hur] Then after a while, it will die off again.

I have a 4 channel amp powering my front and rear speakers.

I tried switching from channel 1 and 2 (front) to 3 and 4. The left side still gives problems. [shakehead]

Any advice?

I usually listen to very low volumns when I am with family. Only turn it up when alone.

probably the crossover problem,

you know i have this problem in home audio also, sometimes in my past setup(s), yes, encountered it a few times; i think same as your problem?

as in, when soft/background listening volumes, suddenly no output (from one side, be it L or R) then you got to crank it up loud suddenly that 'spoilt' channel will come to life, then you turn the volume down to its previous level--after awhile it suddenly goes off again?

my experience with that was: old amplifier, one channel output giving problems already, speaker no problem

Definately the crossover since you're on passive...

If amp spoil, not only your speaker but your tweeter will also have the same problem.

In fact, i myself am having the exact same problem now...i troubleshoot and found out its my amp channel that's spoilt...gonna get it changed next week

maybe you also can check the speakers wiring in between any re-connected wire or using black pastic tape ,during installation previously.if had .the tape under hot condition will melt and cos the current diffcuit to flow.

there are quite a no possibilities.

1) if u r using stock speakers, mayber (paper) speaker torn, need to change new speakers.

2) cross-over wiring not attached properly or spoilt.

3) amp output to speaker faulty.

4) tuning off

But I switched from channel 1 and 2 to 3 and 4. Still the same. Don't think it is amp. [:/] Will try to switch cross overs. [nod]

1) if u r using stock speakers, mayber (paper) speaker torn, need to change new speakers. nothing wrong with speakers. Using after markets one.

2) cross-over wiring not attached properly or spoilt. This one will check and update.

3) amp output to speaker faulty. Tried but don't think it is so.

4) tuning off Will try 2 first. [nod]

Hi hi. Some updates. really weird.

I exchanged the input in the cross-overs. Meaning, now my left is playing on my right speaker. Vise versa for left. Both speakers and tweeters ok. [hur] Don't know what is going on! [sweatdrop]
