Tyer Neutral Newbie August 16, 2008 Share August 16, 2008 Was looking to get a claybar since I been reading up on detailing stuff on this informative forum. This is to be used with the NXT liquid wax that I just got. However, when I go to Giant, the price of the claybar is like 30bucks. Is that the normal price for clay bar? ↡ Advertisement

Maddriver 4th Gear August 16, 2008 Share August 16, 2008 Was looking to get a claybar since I been reading up on detailing stuff on this informative forum. This is to be used with the NXT liquid wax that I just got. However, when I go to Giant, the price of the claybar is like 30bucks. Is that the normal price for clay bar? Look at the weights..it could be 210grams..Those soft99 are about 110 gram which cost about 15-17 dollars...I think the best bang for buck is 3M..$21++ for 200 grams.. Ken_leong 2nd Gear August 17, 2008 Share August 17, 2008 (edited) Haha. In the beginning, I was supposed to meet up with you to get my 1st DG product. But ended up meeting your gf everytime cos her place quite near to mine. I also had wanted to get you to help me detail me car then but I see your schedule so packed that I bobian gota diy liao. Anyway, think she too kind liao. My ride all done by hand so compared to what you can do, think mine ride small mole hill as compared to yours. Like your gf said, I almost bought the whole DG range of product liao. Only tried DG but don't intend to try other brand liao. Garlic 1st Gear August 17, 2008 Share August 17, 2008 (edited) Depending on your usage, a 200gm will go a long way for a single user. I prefer cutting the bigger bar into smaller pieces, find it more manageable and risk of contamination is reduced. Ken_leong 2nd Gear August 17, 2008 Share August 17, 2008 Claybar is like a piece of mouldable clay. It is used to remove the particles embedded on the surface of your car by 'pulling' it off when you move the claybar over the surface. If your car surface isn't smooth, you'll need it. If you work near a shipyard like me, you'll need even more of this and maybe a bit of help.
