Where to get Claybar?

Was looking to get a claybar since I been reading up on detailing stuff on this informative forum. This is to be used with the NXT liquid wax that I just got.

However, when I go to Giant, the price of the claybar is like 30bucks. Is that the normal price for clay bar?

I recently saw the Soft99 claybar (150gm) at Giant Vivo for $17.50, and saw it again at the DIY shops for $19.50. Dunno what the instrcutions say in Japanese, but there are 2 types - for dark colored cars and light colored. I am thinking of buying and DIY (I've never used a claybar before) - my car surface looks terrible. Any one who tried?

Hi i bought the soft 99 one. The green one is for dark coloured cars. Just wash and leave some car wash in excess, pour into a spray and sparay as you claybar. I use the Duragloss 901 to wash and as a lubricant, the suds are plentiful and very well lubricated. The are alot of instructions in the forum on how to use the claybar. The car become very smooth after tt. You may need to polish the surface before applying wax.

If u dun mind to pay more for a real solid claybar...Try the TuffKote one...Abt $60 per pc...Can be bought in SIn Ming industrial estate. My company is using that to maintain their vehicles..Sometime i also 'kapok' to clay my car, really very very gd...hence explains the hefty price

I got the Soft green colour one. I just use car shampoo as lubricant.

Apply the shampoo, then claybar over. It's easy, then rinse off.

It works very well.

i just got a 3m clay bar for slightly over $20 for a 200g at giant parkway parade . Then went to the hadrware shop opposite and found that soft99 was $19.50 for 150g. So i think 3M was a better deal on price alone.

Just used yesterday, quite ok. First time using claybar and quite satisfied. My car has been neglected for too loooooooooooong . [laugh]

3m Clay Bar 200g for $20!! [dizzy][dizzy] That's unbelievable. I'll have to rush to this place. Thanks for your info, LECLAIR. IS it "3M Perfect-It III Cleaner Clay"? If so, it's a very very cheap price.

Anyway, if 3m products are also available in this price, why soft99 is so popular among singapore car crazies? I think 3m brand is superior to soft99, right? Correct me if I'm wrong

You just got it earlier on today?

From what I know, after you washed the car with shampoo, move the claybar in s straight motion to make the surface smooth. Must always dip the claybar in soapy water from time to time. After that, rinse and dry the car then you can polish the car. That's my understanding.

But must ask the experts here for more detailed steps.

The price is very good, the cheapest I could find was $14.
