Hi guys,

Im planning to respray my ride to a pure white color. However, my current body kit has many cracks and scratches. car is too low and has encountered many bumps against humps and the parking lot curbs.

the cracks that are most visible are at the rear lip and side skirts. I was wondering if i do a respray, do i need to do the touch up of the cracks at a different shop first den proceed with my respray or do all spray shops do the touch up for all cars they are respraying for?

any recommendations and price range for pure white respray plus touch up (using putty or watever)? my car is very small, will tat be a significant factor in the pricing?

I only know solomon brothers and according to them, they dun do touch ups for cars.

any indication of price range? last i heard was $1200 for a small car like getz. does the color of the paint count? my fren who bought a suzuki swift sports needed to add $1000 just for yellow! she was told tat yellow is premium color.. i cant comprehend man..

hi, i haven got any quote to for respraying yet. as this will be my first time respraying, i tot of asking some genuine advice from brothers here b4 proceeding for respray.

ya, i only know of 2 incidents

1. my brother wanted to get an Euro R white. agent say need to top up $1000 as white is premium color.

2. my colleague paid extra $1k for swift sports yellow. yellow is premium color - reason given to her.

tats why im concerned abt respraying. i had a fren who resprayed his getz to metallic silver at $1200. since my car is almost same size as his (actually much smaller) i reckon it shld cost me less den $1200? also, i had cracks in the body kits, so im not sure how much it will cost me. further more, i wanna respray white. Im afraid white is wat they called premium color and charge more.

If I'm not wrong, there shouldn't be extra charges for spray painting except for special colors like pearl white.

The most funny thing is about the yellow color for swift sports cos swift sports has the color yellow included in the range.

In fact, only swift sports has yellow color.

Yeah normal white is ok.

As for the swift sports, only sports version has the yellow color if I'm not wrong.

Which means to say you have an extra color (yellow) to choose from if you get the swift sports.

okay. im looking to spray those white like subaru white. looks nice. haha. I will try around to get a quote and will update here for ppl who are looking to respray their rides.

i get wat u mean. i asked my colleague already. she told me she saw this special offer for swift sports. when she went there, she was told tat the offer is only for white color. but she insisted yellow, so she had to top up $1000 for that premium yellow color. in the end, she still paid abt $2k less than the market price. all these happened in april 2007.

Oh now I get what happened.

Aiyo white color also quite nice mah...

Only problem is that white color becomes yellow if there is no proper care taken on the car paint.

White is nicest color. it makes the car look big! other than that, it gives a feeling of generosity which reflects well on the owner.

well, these are my own opinions haha

I'm also thinking of a respray. Was quoted around $3,ooo+ for the job.

Any good workshop with proven records?

Try this place: http://www.lca.com.sg/

Proven and reasonable price. Be prepared to leave your car there for at least 8 days depending on schedule, but its worth the wait.

Workmanship is immaculate. They really strip down, fix back everything and the car will feel almost like new again.

bro,

apart form personal preference..

IMO, black and white is the most difficuit to maintain...

last time i love white so much that, sepnd $$ to change the ride...and was to determine to maintain well,,,the fist few months very onz...weekly wash, detailing,,,order GLARE from Vpost and polish so on...spend alot on the m/c and time....

it only take a few idiot to stretch your ride and you sianz 1/2...then lost the zill to polish..then the white turn yellowish...worst part is that , if spray one side...the colour tone is so obverse....

For black, today wash, tomorrow dirty...expercially worst when a small rain....black becocme grey...

Just sharing for info nia...
