Ml2spin 2nd Gear September 11, 2008 Share September 11, 2008 Hi Friends Due to the arrival of a 2nd one, I am considering changing from a sedan to a bigger ride. This will allow me to dump all the necessary baby items and as well as ferry my folks from time to time. Naturally I would think of MPV but those sporty looking ones cannot seems to fit 5 adults and 2 kids comfortably. With that I am referring to Stream and Wish and I dont really like the shape (no offence to current owners) of Odessey, Grandis or Estima. With that thought in mind I will be doing some research on SUV and specifically a 7 seater one. Budget is 100k and below and I dont need a real off roader. Couple of examples I will be looking at are (which I am not sure if there are 7 seater) are: - Forester - Outlander - RAV4 LWB Is there any others I can should be looking out for? Regards Have you seriously tried getting your family to test-ride a Wish or Stream? If you don't need to ferry 7 adults for long drives, a Wish or a Stream should work -- the third row isn't super-wide or comfy but average-sized adults should be ok back there. If you need 7 seats and luggage space, then you need a full size MPV like Estima, Alphard, Elysion, Grand Voyager etc. Given a choice of all those mention here, I say Touran Sport -- a bit van-like in shape but got 1.4TSi and DSG, -- just right for a VAGser

Sgnick 1st Gear September 12, 2008 Share September 12, 2008 (edited) Naturally I would think of MPV but those sporty looking ones cannot seems to fit 5 adults and 2 kids comfortably. With that I am referring to Stream and Wish and I dont really like the shape (no offence to current owners) of Odessey, Grandis or Estima. If you feel that Stream and Wish cannot seem to fit 5 adults and 2 kids comfortably, why would 7 seater SUVs be better? Are 7 seater SUVs like Captiva, SantaFe, Outlander, Vanguard, Crossroad bigger internally with better leg room bigger more comfortable seats for 7 as compared to Wish/Stream? I always thought that MPVs have better seats for 7 compared to 7seats SUVs..... Also, i admit looks is a personal choice and subjective, but since u r moving to 7 seats for practical reasons (arrival of your 2nd), MPVs like Estima is definitely more practical people carrier with loads of bootspace for your lugguages and golfbags. Carbon82 Moderator September 12, 2008 Share September 12, 2008 Friends Thanks for your suggestions. 7 seater is a criteria for me. Let me have a look at Exiga, Fortuner, Vanguard and Outlander at the showrooms. Any owners of Mark X-Zios here? Is it bigger than Wish? Keep them coming. Yes, Mark X Zio is bigger than Wish (length and width is the same as Odyssey). BUT neither Exiga nor this is an SUV (in term of look and spec).
Carbon82 Moderator September 12, 2008 Share September 12, 2008 best choice FORTUNER, the last row seat can be folded sideway to make space for you. well below $100K one of the biggest SUV on the road, make your present felt Agreed. Santa Fe and Captiva although look relatively big on the outside, but offer limited space in the 3rd row.
