Hello Members,

My rim size is R16 x 7"....current with stock rubber 205/60_R16.

I have checked the website and the next available size with less then 2% speedo error is 215/55_R16. I would like to know what is the ideal size to fit for rim width 7" ???

205mm or 215mm ??

Kindly enlighten.....thanks you guys.... [nod][nod][nod]

Wah....dun think these 2 sizes can leh...over 2% rules leh

205/45_R16

100 = 110km/h

10.40% Too Fast

Diameter Differenr = 9.43%

215/45_R16

100 = 108km/h

8.766% Too Fast

Diameter Differenr = 8.07%

This size indeed is very close to stock

225/55_R16

100 = 99.7km/h

0.235% Slower

Diameter Different = 0.24%

But 225 abit too much for my 1.6L and the tyre may bulge out more...IMHO

215/55_R16

100 = 101km/h

1.469% Faster

Diameter Different = 1.45%

Still within the 2% rules.

Anyway...thanks for all your inputs.... [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

Too much for your 1.6 or not I am not sure, but rest assure will not bulged out too much, cos the percentage of rim width over tire width is well within the 75-90 percentile.

Err, means the percentage of rims width in mm ( 7 X 25.4 = 177.8 mm ) to the width of tire 225 mm ( in this case ). Thus 177.8/225 approx = 0.79. (Within the 0.75-0.9 range). Note this is the general rule of thumb. Some tire fitment allow this number to drop to btn 0.7-0.9.

Actually 7 inch rims coupled with 225mm wide tires quite an ideal fit.
