DRL or DDL - the whole idea is to give the ride, visibilty in the day - similar to having bikes on their headlights in the day. I tooled my own Day Driving Lights on my Van & bike. On my bike I disconnected the headlights as they were drawing more power compare to the LED strip I used as DDL. Best of all, they have this Taiwan made 6LED type for $15 while 30LED type is going for $30. Its Super bright as I have bought 1 and install myself.
