Nohnemwan 1st Gear November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 2 days = less than 200km of driving? Nothing serious, maybe some dust ingested. You probably won't keep the car until COE finish right? If you are worried just do an oil and oil filter change. Your car is probably fuel injection, so nothing to do there. If it is a carburetted car and you are very fussy then you may wish to service the carb.
Ktgan Neutral Newbie November 10, 2008 Author Share November 10, 2008 Thanks for the info. Yup, 2 days drove less than 150 km. my ride is mazda 3, just about 10 month old. Dun think will keep the car until COE finish.

Speddevil Neutral Newbie November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 if there's nothing wrong with the car except some dust, its ok.. but gotta be careful in future
Dwoon 1st Gear November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 Its not gonna do anything to your engine lah..... unless you took the car off roading or something. Else on Sgp roads..... the dust levels aren't that much.
Caravan 5th Gear November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 I thought some of the local UOA shows very high levels of silicon(i.e. sand)? While the air may not be dusty like desert, it's not that clean either.
Dwoon 1st Gear November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 2 days driving w/o filter is not gonna do anything to the engine.... unless you do that for many kms..... Those running long term on wire mesh filters are worse off....compared to 2 days w/o filter.
Yuan 6th Gear November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 (edited) You are fast with your replies. I was going to say running with the engine for 2 days without air filter should be fine as compared to those who drive their cars with stainless steel filters for some time. Should be no problem. As what one bro has said, there are other people who changed to performance wire mesh or stainless steel filters under which their engine took up more dust, dirt and foreign parties than your filterless engine for the last 2 days. No worries.
Ktgan Neutral Newbie November 10, 2008 Author Share November 10, 2008 thanks for all the precious info, bro. well, i think my engine will be very dirty, cos i'm using after market CAI

While the air may not be dusty like desert, it's not that clean either. Including the exhaust smoke and stuff from our trucks, lorries and vans. I think they are one of the biggest culprits on the roads. ↡ Advertisement
