Is it an offence to drop/pickup someone at the bus stop during bus lane operating hours?

 

We have to drive into bus lane right?

Just to add one more point : in fact bus stop is for bus use, no other veh is to use it like bus pick/drop passengers.-- so even there is no bus lane is still an offence.

its the same as adhering to speed limit; no matter what, we should drive within the speed limit, shouldn't we?

yup...but if u drive within the speed limit but if on lane 1...ppl will say u hog

I don't find it difficult to siam to the next lane to give way for other ppl who speed.

Yup. Definaton of Road Hog doesn't take actual speed into consideration. From the Dictionary,

 

road hog

noun : a driver who obstructs others

noun : a driver who obstructs traffic by occupying parts of two lanes.

 

Even if you drive at 180km/h but meets the above condition, you are a ROAD HOG.
