Pisces69 6th Gear December 17, 2008 Share December 17, 2008 try hankook s1evo ========= Seems Hankook tires r getting popular. R they really good? They have been recommended (V8RS) to me but I scared to try cos I cant imagine a Korean tire to be really good value for money. Also not that cheap leh. About the same as DNA db & RE001. Robertoon Neutral Newbie December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 you will be surprise after using it... HANKOOK had been the fastest growing tyre company in the world for last 2 years...and its the World 7th Biggest even ahead of Yoko.
Help1 1st Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 yep then Michelin Increases its Stake in Hankook Tyres to nearly 10% 06/27/2008 (Paris
Robertoon Neutral Newbie December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 it will not be the case, coz HANKOOK limited MICHELIN share to max 10% only.
Help1 1st Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 hard to say, with the current financial turmoil, anything is possible, who knows either company may have financial issue and ask the other party to bail them out, never say never
Furrynadz 5th Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 its abt the cheapest UHP AA wet weather rated u can lay ur grubby paws on for equivalent pricing, u can only get comfort biased japan brand but make in not japan possibly with poorer wet weather traction that granted, thread pattern and compound, comparing s1evo vs the contisports, and prime vs the contipremiums, there _IS_ still a discernable difference in grip levels if want to go for safe choice, RE001
Pisces69 6th Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 you will be surprise after using it... HANKOOK had been the fastest growing tyre company in the world for last 2 years...and its the World 7th Biggest even ahead of Yoko. ================ I was thinking of trying but for the price u quoted me, I wud rather get DNA db or RE001 even. If I add a bit more I can even get PP2s.
Pisces69 6th Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 Yup. Based on the prices I was quoted for the V8s, I might as well get RE001 or DNA db. I now have Yoko A Drives. I just might stick with them as their grip is pretty good.
Furrynadz 5th Gear December 19, 2008 Share December 19, 2008 a drive is mip (make in philipines), its grip comes from more of thread design, not rubber compound, over time once the rubber hardens, u start losing grip go for a rubber that has better compound like bridgestone (but overpriced) end of the day, if keep comparing will never end due to budget , best to set a budget for 4 rubbers and get the best compromise within that $$
Jimcheam Neutral Newbie December 19, 2008 Share December 19, 2008 (edited) Bridgestone RE0001..it is quiet yet pack with pretty good wet grip... get the made in japan i got them at about $185 per piece Edited December 19, 2008 by Jimcheam
Pisces69 6th Gear December 19, 2008 Share December 19, 2008 I not in a real hurry but was thinking of changing cos I not too sure about the A Drives. But the more I push them, the better they seem to b. I getting to like them a lot. I wonder how much they cost for 205/45/16? If the price is right, I might just get them again. ↡ Advertisement
