Feedback for MCF

Hi Admin,

I am not sure if this has been highligted to you but I would like to give my feedback...

Previously, there will be email notification to me when someone has reply to my posting. However, even now I click on the "email notification of replies", the email will still alert me but its only tell me someone replying to this thread. It may not be replying to me.

In this case, if i make many replies to different threads, then it would be difficult for me to go back individual thread to see if anyone has reply me. I still prefer the previous arrangement that there will be email notification to me only when someone replying directly to me (not this thread). I realise some other forum also got this problem but I think the previous MCF has this very good function. Now, its the same as other forum..

Secondly, there used to be a link where we can click "in reply to". We can trace the posting, who is replying to who. This is very useful expecially if there are many replies and some ppl do not quote the previous sentance.

I really like MCF. Hopefully there above can be restored.

Thank you very much! [thumbsup]

Hi Admin,

Sincerely awaiting your reply.. [rolleyes]

The "In Reply To" feature is back. Now you can see who is replying to you.

Rest assured that the admin team takes your feedback seriously.

Lets keep this thread alive till the forum is perfected.

In the Old MCF, the "In Reply to" can be clicked. Clicking it brought me to the post the guy is replying to.

But in here, it's a little different. Instead of a clickable "In Reply to", it's now an unclickable "In Reply to [Nick of person replying to]" . To me this is not very useful. Imagine XXX posted 27 times in a thread, and someone replied to one of XXX's post. How would i know which of the 27 posts the reply is for? [confused]

Another scenario, if XXX posted only once in the thread.... and someone replied. But bcos the thread is very long, the reply appeared 13 pages away..... then haha... i have to flip 13 pages to find XXX's post to see what the question was. Otherwise reading just the reply along could sometimes be no head no tail.

You will need to clock 25 posts in order to start a new thread.

All drifters in this thread will be deleted from now on.

Hi Admin ,

How do I do multi quote?

I use to be able to do a multi quote on a topic and reply in the new MCF. I.E the forumers will know exactly what I'm talking about in the message instead of "huh?! lemme guess what's he's taling about."

Previously , I just need to click on the 'Quote + ' on 2 or more reply and I will be able to answer individually or collectively on the forummers queries in the reply box.

I can't seems to do it anymore .

Hi there,

Would like the good old email notification of forummers replying to me to be featured.

It saves alot of browsing time and searching too.

Just my 2.1 cents worth..

Hi,

We removed the "multi-quote function as it was under-utilised. So now you can only quote one-by-one.

Trying to get that done, but this forum board function is different from the previous board, so there are difficulties. No promises though. [lipsrsealed]

Right now, you can only "track topic". Meaning that you will get an email notification whenever someone replies in that thread. You will get the email even though the post is not "in reply to" you.

I see.Thank you.

If it's not too much of a hassle , can it be reinstated as it will be more effective and productive to answer all at once in a single posting ?

I tried to reply several at a time but now got to do one by one too.

To Admin,

I think maybe under ulitize but that's becuase many were still new to this function. I for one did not know of multi quote till a few week alter when the new MCF started.

This reply is an example. But I can't quote what admin quote.

The multi-quote function was removed after much consideration. This includes under-utilisation and confusion to users.

Don't think it will be brought back in the near future.

sorry i know there's been a lot of suggestion put forward, hope I won't be duplicating because I have no time to run through all the suggestions.

I thought the old MCF functionality of letting us know which of our thread has been replied to should be ported over to the new layout. That is really useful. The current format does not has a short cut to notify and bring me back to those posts of mine which has been replied

Hi,

The function was re-inserted some time ago.

At the home page, click on the link "View all new replies".

It should show you who has replied to your posts.
