jameshunter Neutral Newbie September 19 Share September 19 I checked on this a while back because I was also considering darker tints. The current LTA regulations set specific limits on visible light transmission 70% for the front windscreen and 25% for the rear sides and back. Anything darker than that can definitely get you fined, and yes, the penalties have been raised quite a bit for non-compliance. If you’re not sure whether your tint meets the requirements, it’s worth getting it tested before you run into issues. Shops such as OC Tint Solutions often provide advice on legal tint levels and can help ensure your car stays within the approved limits, which saves you from the risk of heavy fines later on. ↡ Advertisement
