How is the pace like??me only been to beijing and shanghai...tianjin will be first time.. Can drive from Beijing to Tianjin by the highway. Takes about 2.50 to 3 hours. depending on the driver. If someone meet you upon arrival, that should be taken care of. Or fly domestic from Beijing to Tianjin. Always sit at the back and seat belt. A must!! Tanggu is about an hour drive from Tianjin. Night life is so so. Karaoke lounge is a bit wild and lots of China mei mei waiting to be screwe*. Can see the first gate of the Great Wall in Tanggu region. Talking about train...reminded me of the 56 hours trip from Beijing to Liuyuan (Anxi) and then about 1.5 hours drive to Dunhuang. The reasons why sit at the back and seat belt is that the damn chinese driver drive much better than Lewis Hamilton or Alonso.. anf if he could..he will also drive against traffic direction.. If not, you can fly directly to Tianjin airport. From Tianjin airport, get a cab and go to town area for RMB50, about 30mins ride. But if you need to go to Beijing first, you can either take a bus to Tianjin for RMB80, the joureny takes about 2.5hrs depending on the taffic, or you take the express train from Beijing to Tianjin, price unknown but the whole ride takes about 30mins.
