Hi Guys,

I am driving a Honda City 4G, and nearing my 30k Maintenance. I am planning to do outside due to the high costs of doing this with Kah Motor.

However when i was running through my brocheure on servicing, and a few of the key things needed is spark plug and brake fluid.

It says replacement, and for spark plug need about 8. Not a very rich kid, and am planning on getting the NGK G Power Platinium. Been searching around and seen nothing about this, wanted to ask around how many K will it lasts?

Also i am looking at Amsoil ASL 5W30, not sure how many quarts i will need though.

Pls advise me. Many thanks in advance...

platinum plugs suppose to last u for 100,000km. depends on personal comfort levels, some might not use for so long and change them earlier..

4 quarts should do the job.

Online literature suggests Pt plugs can last 60k miles (90k kms), though you can always change them out way before that if you prefer.

As for the Eng Oil, you should be looking at around 4 quarts.

Even when a spark plug is correctly used, periodic replacement is required as it is a consumable item.Get the correct heat range for ur car.

4 quarts shud be enuff

wah this one is deep, correct heat range. what does this means?

Erm i am on a budget, and recently car has gotten jerky in the initial start for gear 1, so i suspect could be spark plug. Also the FC has dropped by about 100km per tank, quite scary that's why i am thinking to change spark plug.

Well the next change is targeted at 30k so i think i will follow that and not based on lifespan of Spark Plug. Do you guys have any recommendations for cheap, good spark plugs?

Plug heat range:A spark plug must dissipate the heat produced by the combustion gases. The heat rating is a measure of the amount of heat dissipation.

Heat range

The term spark plug heat range refers to the speed with which the plug can transfer heat from the combustion chamber to the engine head. Whether the plug is to be installed in a boat, lawnmower or racecar, it has been found the optimum combustion chamber temperature for gasoline engines is between 500

yeah nice idea, i am considering if should go back to Kah Motor, i think the only thing i can save is the oil for servicing, others not sure so sure.

Their spark plug costs about 4-5 bucks, and expected to last about 30k, sometimes i wonder how this can happen.

Any one has link to the NGK Spark Plug Chart? Now the price is about 30 bucks for 4 piece, not sure if anyone can beat that price?

FC drop is mainly due to efficiency of the whole thingy. Spark plugs/oil change alone may not cut it. Need to investigate what have been the caused.. Did you change to new type of tyre and rims recently? sounds like sludge built up in the engine or maybe just the car is like that...

Why risk voiding your warranty at this stage? You still have a long way to go in the mileage...

From me, my servicing cost is $125 which includes oil/spark ( original ) and filter. Voltronic Synthetic at AMK hub point. But I am no longer on warranty.

For Kah, you can bring your own parts. Buy everything from stockist. I did it last time. Spark plugs just buy the normal type can liao, can last 30K one. I even brought air filter, fuel filter, oil filter when I send in to Kah for servicing last time.

4 quarts is enough.

Neutral Newbie

hi,

not sure abt hondas.. but just get the iridium spark plugs should be fine. abt $80 for 4? shd be able to last u for 10 - 20Km. even though some companies claim that theirs will last u 10,000,000km [laugh] ...these are items that shd be changed periodically.

normal stock ones are copper. $4-5 a piece. u shd experience slight improvement in performance if u change to iridium ones

engine oil...most cars use 4 litres
