I wonder is it necessary for us to disclose our claim amount both (own repair cost and 3rd party repair cost) to a new insurance co. if we want to sign up with them rather that continuing with our present one.

I thought if they are not able to find out on they own. I think one will be really folish for us to disclose to them. Any advice?

They know one. All the insurance companies have a central database if I'm not wrong.

You need to declare

a. any claims ongoing against you

b. Any claims made by you or against you in the past, to the best of your knowledge

Failure to declare, both can play sua ku ku

Eg: You dun declare in the hopes of obtaining a lower premium. If insurance calls the bluff and also play along, they have the right to void the policy coz you did not declare....

If i'm not wrong, All insurance company should be linked up via central database.. Just like personal insurance. There's common database on insurer too.. They wan u declare just wana confirm tat they dun missed out and also u are in line with the motor insurance regulation i.e. to report ALL incidents to insurance within 24hrs irregardless whose at fault..
