Check your CV joint and dust covers, mine busted around 10k ago and did not check now have knocking sound as all the grease is probably gone and the part is rubbing on my internal wheel drive arc when I turn hard.

Cost is [sweatdrop] if not under warranty - over 1.2k to get it done.....shiong shiong. Checked outside third party people can get it changed at much cheaper price $$.

So to all bros, watch out for it, get it done during your warranty.

How to Check:

1. Park your car.

2. Turn the wheel to the right all the way to reveal the internal wheel drive arc.

3. dust cover can be seen, it is a rubber part, you can see if there is a tear on it.

Suggestion:

1. Any small tear, if you are under warranty - get it changed.

2. Always check especially when you are at the 40-60k mark according to a few bros here that is when it will tear.

Cheers and thanks for reading.

I just change mine too, still within warranty.

Also, please check your rear brakes, should be changed by 40k to 60K for Superb. You need to specifically request to the AD technician to check. If not, they won't check.

Dust cover change is about S$50 for parts and S$150 for man-effort.

CV joint change maybe even shaft is about S$1,000 for parts and S$800 for man-effort.

As a business man, I will go for the later name sake and less margin. Then again, if the business not doing well, I will be very tempted to do the later.

go to Elite driveshafts. 6482 0215

both dustcovers + labour will only cost you 180 bucks. i have changed mine 5 times, just need to constantly check every 18-20k of mileage.

At every OCI at 15k km, i change the dustcovers for one side, previous is left side, then right side....each side lasts about $25-30k km

servo charges $80 per side which i believe, are done by Elite as well.

this issue only happens on the Spb Mk 1, not the B5.5 or the A6, due the the different shaft diameters of the 2 bars at the CV joint.
