PC keep re-booting

if it happens every morning, then is unlikely virus infection. moreover your norton 360 gets updated daily and if there is a virus infection, it will detect and clean the threat. open up your PC, visually inspect the motherboard, check for loose cables. check the bios settings

Time to change; get a mac.

The problem is every monring when I switched on the PC, everything is ok but after a while (say less a few minutes) it suddently re-booted....and keep on re-booting.

 

So I switch off the PC and wait for a while and switch on again.

 

At time it is ok....no more re-booting....but sometimes it will re-boot in the afternoon or anytime in the days as when it feel like.

 

Care to advise what cause it?

 

 

do u partition harddisk? i got a bad sector in my c:\ so no matter how i reinstall OS, it didnt help. so i install OS at D:\. All resolved! sometimes i heard can be due to RAM. take out and rub the golden fingers, try again.

Does it behave the same way when you boot up in SAFE MODE? Try it and let us know.

no virus detected after virus scan in safe mode....

Did you clean the inside of your casing half-yearly?

 

Overheat, due to dust stuck onto the fans, can caused re-booting. Check your graphic card fan to make sure it is spinning else it may be the cause.

it shld be os corrupted... cos if ram faulty, low chance u able to boot into win or even boot up...

 

my advice, try clearing up using a strong AV tool 1st if still cant solve dan u hav to format ur hdd and reinstall a fresh new os...

remember to use low-level format which will take longer as it format deeper into the root...

you can try to boot up in Safe Mode...when start up..press F8 (or which F key works for u to start in Safe mode)

try to scan from there.

or you can try to hook up ur HD to another PC..& work your way from there...

if got ping sound...jialat liao....

I will try to all easy solution first (like cleaning the inside of casing, ram, etc) before re-format the HDD.

 

BTW, it's a DIY desktop.

i had experiece with "dying ram" system still can boot up but very un-stable.. total freeze sometimes,.. or laggy like mad... or blue screen...mix system problem...., in the end it was a ram problem..... was using those duo type of ddram... come with a pair which is suppose to run faster.. when i remove one of it..... everything stable... (after many many try and error by swapping many components...)..

sometimes, simply plug out all the cards, rams, cpu...etc.. clean it a put it back solve all the problem...

If you can see the Windows Logo when booting up, I think its the RAM problem.
