Vwguy77 3rd Gear June 3, 2009 Share June 3, 2009 I really like the i30 when I test drive it early last year when it first came out. But the price then was really really expensive (~$60K) and so I drop the idea. If I'm going to change car anytime soon, this car will definitely be on my list. ↡ Advertisement
Hokk7777 Neutral Newbie June 4, 2009 Share June 4, 2009 (edited) I have seen several i30 on the road. It really look very stylish and sporty. But the price between the Avante and i30 is too much of a difference. Does any one know about the diff in Parf ? i30 OMV about $2k higher. Performance on par with avante but the i30 definitely looks more stylish both exterior and interior. For me, as long as performance is acceptable, the design is my priority, that's why I book it. Junjie 1st Gear June 4, 2009 Share June 4, 2009 try the i30, interior is good, on the road, pick up is weak compare to avante, brake very soft and spongy feeling.....ride is pretty comfort...
Nikolaiski Neutral Newbie June 4, 2009 Share June 4, 2009 i think after reading all these replies, most of you should realize that "pick up not so good" or "pick up damn fast" are only relative terms - you have to know what the person is comparing to. And in this case, the i30's standing-start acceleration, or pickup, isn't as good as that of a Yaris or Vios, to be honest. But it's miles better than what my 1.3-litre automatic Getz can manage. As for fuel, I've driven this car around for a day for about 160 km, i managed 10.4 km/l average in this car by holding the gears to 4000 rpm 1 out of 3 times when launching off the lights, ie. spirited driving. I think that's quite good for a Korean car weighing almost 1300 kg (not too sure about the exact weight) Not to mention the handling of the car felt great, but you shouldn't ruin it with overly big tyres like those 17 inches that Komoco gives you. 16" might be the best balance.
