Why is the GLX, considered an old model, priced around the same as the FORTE? Would anyone really buy the GLX over the FORTE?

My take is old opinion on korean rides is no longer valid. Avante is the new standard korean has carved out (from Hyundai). For kia, it is Forte (replacement of old cerato/rio). I am swayed towards Forte for its yummy features and up-to-date technology.

Though the GLX is old (with rather old engine), but it is proven one of best selling model for mitsubishi. I almost got an Avante, but it was priced so much higher then. Now all my friends driving an Avante!! Some drove up Genting with it - no problem at all. See, korean have arrived. [thumbsup]

Due to exchange rate, so MIJ car is much more expensive than MIK car.

There's an article in The Straits time today saying PI are going to close shop due to the exchange rate, as most of them are selling MIJ cars.

though koreans have sort of catch up with the japs..the long term reliability of new generations MIK cars is still unproven..as when compared to MIJ jap cars, which have proven their reliability decades ago..

I would be surprised anyone would buy GLX over Forte... its a no brainer choice. Everything is superior and more up-to-date.

Hi all,

I'm comtemplating between a Nissan Sylphy, Kai Cerato Forte, Toyota Rush or VW Jetta... It'll be my 1st car.. I'm totally new to cars, dont understand whats important while comparing their specs. My main priority will be fuel efficient and getting a basic convenient car. Appreciate if you can provide some opinions/advice. Thanks! =)

friend who test drove forte didnt have much gd comments abt it

the interior looked cheapo and felt cheapo, he preffered the lancer interior, though dated

hes driving a tom yam car, so these are his rather objective comments.

another friend has both FD and Tiguan, after sitting in both very frequenty i was suprise with the big difference the FD have over the tiguan.

was rather disappointed with the tiguan interior though its conti, the buttons felt like children's toy.

There is quite a bit of discussion on the Forte at Sgkia forum including the now almost infamous suspension knock sound when going over road humps. You should take that into consideration when making your choice.

Well... there' no such thing as "everything is superior" so long as there's a buyer for GLX... it's really up to his individual's choice. Otherwise, why wouldn't Forte be the only one in it's class moving?

No offence to Nissan supporter, but hey... i found it a surprise (it's just me bias) that Sunny is still around too... [lipsrsealed]
