actually i think some PIs will rather not be bothered by the COE.. a company i know will rather sell the stock immediately and release the tied-up capital plus some profit.. just like wholesaling to a dealer...

 

if that company tries to force a deal through and keep insisting that customer buy car with coe, it may mean that the PI also trying to speculate the price of COE... one-bid guarantted coe may sound better but dun forget usually u will have to pay more..

 

personally, i think if ur frd's bf wants to get the coe, maybe can let the SE (or PI) knows during discussion work out a timeline... to be fair to the PI too, what happens if customer signs the deal then in the end cust failed to get a coe and try for a few months? the dealer will be stuck with that car since has reserved that unit..

 

i think u should consider before the coming coe bid, how much he willing to pay for COE now and is it worthwhile to let the dealer bid for u? dun forget if coe is on uptrend, it may be worth it for the dealer to take the risk based on the extra $$$ that u have to pay...
