Sorry for me being "sua ku" but only recently than I know that postage to government agencies are free. No need to buy postage stamp for the envelop.

My fren did it for his Mobile bills and Utilities bills for yrs. He pay thru cheque as he does not pay full amt all the time. [lipsrsealed]

So next time when mailing to govt agency, no need to buy stamp.

okie, i have checked with my frz.

only mail to IRAS or for property tax, you can do away with the stamp. The post will bill them on the charges.

as for the rest of the agencies, you can try mailing without stamp; the post will impose surcharge and postage to the agencies and they have rights to refuse paying. if they refused, post will direct surcharge + postage back to sender.

if the organisation provides a franked envelope at your convenience of mail returning, then you needn't pay i.e. affix a stamp. franked envelopes come with vertical black strips on the front with a reference code. it serves as way for companies to purchase prepaid postage in bulk.
