I feel it's like maciam got $$ buy car, no $$ pump petrol?

Send me your frens' car plates numbers - I help them kick the habit.

As above, most of my friends mod their fuel needle and all chiong JB to pump cheap oil after they get their car, they say i very stupid, should go and mod the needle and enjoy the cheap oil, save lots of money rather den pump in spore, what do u all think? I juz smile back to them... Coz i feel that why wanna resort to doing illegal stuffs, feel its quite pathetic imo. Some more oil not ours, it belong to the Malaysian using their taxes to subsidize for their citizen, no pt imo.

not sure whether those who cheat on this kind of thing know the consequences.

for those of you who knows someone doing this, please remind [gossip] them of the consequence they will get when ICA finds out.

- jail, butt whipped, fine, ICA will confiscate the car, they will continue to pay the car installment, etc.

the consequence [whip] is heavy and serious.. enough for most non-risk takers to forget about the idea.

for gung ho  ones, try to re-think and support Singapore economy [drivingcar]

cheers.

People take chances everyday rah. Driving onto bus lane during peak hours, doing illegal parking for quick lunch or picking up passengers, exceeding speed limit, do illegal mod on car....blah blah blah. U name it.....tons of people doing that everyday.

So i dont see a big deal in ppl doing mod needle and stuff. They labour gains with the risk and face the consequences when caught. Its thier call. Just like the offenses i mentioned above. Its actually none of our business. But from the responses here on this needle thing, there are sure penty of sour grapes out there. [lipsrsealed][laugh]

Won't do it myself. But I guess the temptation of cheap petrol is too great for some. I've seen people that I know buy big cars but struggle to pay the loans and even defaulted the loans. Everyday play cat-and-mouse game with the creditors.

God bless these people!!! [angel]

I would think these are the people that are street smart and knows how to ensure their surviviability.

At least they are not held at ransom by the oil cartels here. Same feeling for those who goes JB for petrol.

It is not a matter of having $ to buy car but no $ to pump petrol.

Why should be we paying skyrocketing prices in the first place?

If this is a free economy and free market, the 3/4 tank rule should not be there in the first place.

And if M'sians really do care about us enjoying their subsidies, it should be their gov enforcing some sort of controls over at their side to prevent us from enjoying their benefits, not the SG gov.

How abt before the implementation of the 3/4 tank rule?

A lot more sg cars went in almost empty tanks. The MY gov didn't make noise then.

Everybody wants to save that so call "little money". Just look at the recent Shell National Day promotion. Practically cause jams everywhere. Even accidents and quarrels! [shakehead][thumbsdown] And for what ? To save that few dollars. I dont see any diff between this lot and those regular Jbee visitors. At least those going jbee dont inconvenient our roads.......unlike those idiots during that window hour.

above mentioned are mostly fine. dont need to go jail and eat biscuit.

can't even compare with tampering of fuel guage?

just curious how does the driver know if the fuel is low when they have permanently modified the fuel gauge to read at 3/4?

Just curious or you're comtemplating? [laugh]

Anyhoo, just know at what mileage your car needs to pump at. So if your car can go 600 clicks on a full tank, better join the queue at 500!

Oh yeh, remember to reset your trip meter so that it doesn't show 500 clicks at 3/4 tank, don't want to raise any suspicions now do we?

Good luck to you if you try it! Remember to report back in with your results! [thumbsup]

U are right both cannot be compare. One only affect the ego of some. While the other causes inconvenience to all and in some cases accidents. [dead]
