Experiences for Mazda MX5

Hi,

Tried to search for MX5 on this forum but no results. Can anyone share their experiences, both pros and cons, both auto and manual, for the facelifted 2.0l MX5? Thanks for your help.

I drive a NC 2.0, see my alvatar.

What a car.

Only gripe is the very low seating arrangement. Getting in and out is a pain, already for me who is small in frame.

Otherwise, no horse run!!!

Hee... Dream car and real life are quite diff... Tat's y most of the Elise owners I know have it as a 2nd car... Try getting in and out of it 5 times a day... EVERYDAY....

After I had one for a week while my friend was away... all the "grand illusions" disappeared! hahaha...

thats right... gonna be a 2nd or 3rd car...

i noe asking about FC for a MX5 is not exactly a fantastic qn..

but..really curious...MX5 looks small..with a 2.0liter engine, what is the FC like? Is it comparable to MRS?

Elise is not a roadster, it can the most qualify as a targa top. when it comes to roadster, i believe Miata is undisputed, especially in value for money aspect.

same here, NA to NB, will go for an NC if the price is right. i surely dun mind a 6-speed auto, though miata is more lively in manual, the 6-speeder with paddle (either PI high spec or MM) is a gem. one of the best auto from land of rising sun.

dun touch a miata if you dun wanna buy, the bug will stay for years.

I'm not the best example... AT RHT (slightly heavier) driven with a VERY heavy left foot and 90% city driving mostly under peak hour conditions (Bukit Timah->Shenton). Roughly 8KM/L, i.e. I refuel for $70-$80 a tank (topping up 40+ litres) when the light comes on, and get 320-340KM on the meter. If it's any consolation, the reported FC is MUCH better, and I'll probably get better mileage if I eased off on the accelerator.....

On the bright side, RON95 will do, as that's the required minimum.

But seriously, it's a rev-happy, lightweight sports car. Don't watch the meter too much... [drivingcar]

42L for NB. used to get 360-380km when petrol was paid for. now i have to survive with 420-460km. i heard some get 500km and above. really feather footed type.

i think NA has almost same capacity of fuel tank.

48ltrs to give 320ltrs(lights on) with heavy foot is quite decent. [sunny]

You must enjoy the ride very much.

Yes I do [drivingcar]. As does everyone I know who owns one.

The miata sg group is pretty good too! Friendly and clubby. [thumbsup] A very interesting mix of all age groups and profiles, all with a common love of the car. The mods have to be seen to be believed, from hand made iPhone mounts, to chrome everything, to engines you can literally eat off. I've also seen owners who lovingly 'un-mod' their NAs to as original and stock a condition as possible.
