And the spanish defenders are not used to him yet. Thats why he scores much easier. But not a doubt he is still the best player in the world, besides Messi. lolx. This season Barca will still have an edge over RM. As it will take time for RM players to gel as a team....

What bull I'm a die hard Man Utd fan but to me, the English league's aggregate standard is nowhere compared to the Italian and Spanish counterparts. Ronaldo should be able to flourish in the la liga given that in the EPL, defenders are way more hardcore, comparatively.
Viceroymenthol 6th Gear September 24, 2009 Share September 24, 2009 i think he meant that the EPL is a physically stronger league with a lot more physical contact. If Ronaldo can flourish in the EPL where defenders kept hacking him down, he should do even better in Spain where the defenders are more technically skilled and rely more on tactics to close down opponents. Ronaldo's level of technical skill and ball control is way above those of La Liga defenders and that is why he will continue to do well in Spain running circles around the La Liga defences, and it is all because he won't get hauled down and pushed around so much. Not sure about Serie A, where the defenders are much more cynical and smelly than England's.

Premier League is a much tougher competition with the physical style of play and pace. Even though La Liga may on the whole have deeper individual talent. In that sense. If im not wrong, there is an english club reaching the Champions League final in each of the last 5 seasons... But then again, the tide may be changing, with the recent acquisitions of some of the world's best players to Spain.
Seevic Neutral Newbie September 24, 2009 Share September 24, 2009 Real fans do their talking by donning their jerseys and cheering their teams on at live matches And what makes u think i dun do that. lolx. Leslielai 1st Gear September 24, 2009 Share September 24, 2009 And what makes u think i dun do that. lolx. Another assumption. Anyway, welcome to the forum. You first insinuated that by not speaking up for my team in immature, pointless internet football discussions I'm less of a fan. All I said was I prefer to don my jersey and cheer my team on at live matches where fellow fans gather. That to me is what football should be all about. I DID NOT suggest that you do not do the same. Quite a mofo you are. [rolleyes]

Metalsubzero Clutched September 24, 2009 Share September 24, 2009 I certainly agree.. Messi is in red hot form as well.. He's at the top of his attacking prowess.. Scoring goals for fun.. If you ask me, Ronaldo is an effective goal scorer, but Messi is a superb entertainer, u'll never know wat move he's gonna do next.. And now he's adding more goals into his play as well.. Between the 2, I would say Messi is leading currently.. We'll see at the end of the season though..

Didnt watch their last match. But as far as i know, RM is playing a 4-2-2-2 formation. Weird as it may sound but it allows the attacking players plenty of space to roam and cause chaos to the opposition. But for this formation, , the 2 x defensive CM are very important players as they need to be physically strong and cover lots of defensive duties. As the wide wingers start to pull out the defenders, a good defensive CM can push the perfect through balls for the 2 attacking forwards. And with the ability to score goals fom long range, this important role will be fitted perfectly by none other than Alonso. And he is missing from the squad right now.... ↡ Advertisement
