The only game that I will play on a sustainable basis will most probably by PES2010 (heard it's coming out this month). The other intention is for the PS3 to double up as my blu ray player. This will meet my objective for now.... Problem is that I don't have any internet connection as yet.... I am holding out for a good bundle (broadband+Tv+phone line). As such, am I still able to play PES2010 on my PS3 Slim w/o internet connection as i heard some bro telling me I need to do some "update" before I can play game.... some said internet connection is only needed for online game play... Just like Bro Ah cow had mentioned, system update is only when u wan to play game online. W/o this update, u still can play games. FYI PES2010 is already out. But like what many bros had mentioned..... Maybe to qualify, there are some considerations like: 1. SCV vs Mio TV 2. Do I really need a phone line? 3. How about bundle with mobile phone package instead? 4. ..... etc a lot of deliberation here and i really like to adopt a wait & see attitdue especially since SCV lost it's BPL rights. My main objective is to play PES2010 (maybe FIFA 2010 since everyone says it's better) and watch Blu-ray discs.... that's all. My advice is no need to worry abt anything... when the screen prompt u to update juz cancel.... I also used not to have broadband before i moved to my current place... juz an additional step to press X i believe when each game startup.... Hope this advice is useful.... If u read this thread from beginning, alot of the bros here started out with playing WE and are diehard fans for WE/PES series, but even since they launch FIFA10, we never look back. You may check out Gamespot to confirm have or not.... I believe that the PS3 is seriously underpriced... meaning what u pay, u'll actually get much more...... free online gaming, wifi connection, bluetooth pairing with headset/keyboard/mouse, internet surfing.... only downside, games are only original and expensive...
