Kelpie 2nd Gear October 12, 2009 Share October 12, 2009 Hi guys, Do you think wet market will be a thing of the past? Their prices are not very competitive as compared with hypermart due to economy of scale. Their forte has always been the perceived freshness and low price. Do you foresee that we will only have one or two hyper wet market and attracting tourists or school children to visit them? Share your view here. Thank you very much. Kangadrool Supersonic October 12, 2009 Share October 12, 2009 Scenario: Once the wet markets are gone, do u think the supermarkets will price their goods sensibly compared to now? Looks like we will see a few cartels just like petrol.

Davidcks 1st Gear October 12, 2009 Share October 12, 2009 wet markets now compared to the past are too clean liao. I remember those days when the chickens are slaughtered at wet market, after that placed in a drum to spin.....kids today will never get to see it in Spore. Kelpie 2nd Gear October 12, 2009 Author Share October 12, 2009 dont worry, wet market is here to stay for a few more good years..... Frankly, would the younger generation wanted to step into a wet market that operate during certain hours or a conveniently located and air-con supermarket/hypermarket that operate after office hours, public holidays and weekends? It is a reality, wet market will be a thing of the past, unless some creative ideas are there to make it stay. Regards,

The drum thingy also seldom see in Malaysia too. Perhaps, villagers still do it . Talking about drum, very cruel leh and those were the days, where you could get 50 cents Mee Poo.
