Rotors

sum up this thread for u in 4 points

1) dont spray water / car wash directly on rotors when hot, if need go car wash, go in morning and use brakes as little as possible/lightly as possible

2) change both rotors/pads at same time

3) all rotors have a minimal nominal thickness which is abt usually 4mm less and 2mm less for front and back for "daily grocery getter cars", once the surface is uneven skimming will bring it below this thickness, which reduces the mass to disperse heat

4) a "too thin" skimmed rotor will fracture/crack under high heat/stress, if your rotor warped not from 1) above then it could be related to driving style, then it makes 4) more dangerous

just a thought.. anyone skim pads?

chamfer the edges with a buffing machine to reduce squeal noise only

sandpapering the surface only helps if not very bad condition
