Is there a 6 speed gearbox for AE101 that mates with the 4A-FE engine? If so, I want to get one too man. How many more years left on your COE bro?

Can! but need to mod 1 mounting, 20v 5 speed also can use but feel that 6 speed more perfect, my 101 still can drive until 2019 so need to take good care on it!

I believe the 1 you ask is a non-LSD ones as they are cheaper. Those with LSD at least ard USD$2300. Remember to change ur bell housing from ur original 4AFE over to the C160 gearbox.

Just try this silver top 5 speed gb (C 56?) to go cameron, Genting and others places, feel that my stock engine abit under power for this gb, pickup, upslopes or over take very good but straigh road max at 190km/h, don't think got speed cut right! but in sg should be quick good liao, im not intend change engine at all so pls advise if can improve something, if possible can meet up also, my contact 96727793, thanks very much!

Any idea where to find a normal 5-speed gearbox for a Blacktop 20V 4A-GE that's been longtitudinally mounted for FR format cars? Can't seem to get anything except a TRD gear-set which goes into the original housing. Damn EX ah [knife]

Take a AE86 gearbox and change the bell housing to the blacktop ones. It fits.

Thanks for replying! You mean take the gears out of an AE86 gearbox and drop them into the blacktop bell housing? Problem is where to find a good condition set of gears from an AE86 in the first place!

You may try to source it out in some of the Malaysia scrap yard. I believe they will have some for sale but again keep your fingers crossed cause AE86 gear box in scrap yard conditions might be coming to almost 30 years old.
