Which maps combination to use? -new Garmin GPS user

Not sure if can take multiple maps.. i just copied the gmapsupp.img file over to the file located in the sd card.

 

you can refer to Redstorm's advice at the beginning of this thread... i followed that and managed to update mine.

Its ok to have multiple maps in the SD card, but best to only enable the one you want to use. Was told that running multiple maps can hang the GPS.

realised that the garmin gps recently go crazy.. instead of the sugg the usually or correct route, it went totally off-course and irelevent route.

anyone experiencing that? cld it due to long hour of heat inside the car so went crazy.. what cld have happened? usually after re-set shd be ok.

no wonder i cannot find the MFM maps....

okie..will buy an additional storage card just for this function.

just put one of the map in sd card and the other at nuvi's drive will do. u just select the map u want to run. [cool]

my garmin after software update can support up to 3 detailed maps in the internal unit... dont really need sdcard method anymore. i put garmin official msm, msm and mfm. garmin official msm still better cos of jcv.
