Anyone got this latest Holux 6210T, any pro and con with this live traffic ?

Bought it from Caltex, on promotiion this month.

The gadget automatically prompts you to detour whenever heavy traffic is spotted along the recommended route to youe destination.

List of locations with low/medium/high traffic will be updated in real time under the TMC button.

It gives you an idea of where to avoid during peak hours.

Overall quite a cool gadget! [thumbsup]

I bought it at $399, same price as it was last sold in exhibition (my fren told me) w/o the long queue of course. [bigcry]

I think it is currently on sale at all Caltex (displayed behind the counter).

399 with 2 year free live subscription..

I asked 2 sales man at SITEX, after 1st 2 years how?

1 say not sure, another say around $50 a year...

haiz..

Have always wondered how do they monitor your 2 yrs subscription? password control via LTA website?

I almost bought a 6210T, but since I can get free traffic alert and pictures of major highway from my Iphone, so dropped the idea of getting a 6210T.

6210T comes with built-in TMC antenna while 62E doesn't.

what is the purpose of the TMC antenna? listen to radio?

understand that 2610T is $299 while 62E is $259

Is this GPS using Malsing maps? Preloaded when buy from Caltex stations?

After 2 yr free subscription of life traffic updates, can you unsubscribe?

Thanks in advance!

I just got it the last weekend, when I try to update the lasted map on it and connect it to PC via usb cable, the devices only could be charged form PC, but the PC could not detect it as moveable disk (unknown devices), so I could not do the update, anyone have idea on this? The usb cable which I used actually was for my Nokia mobile, but the both side port could suit for GPS device and PC.

Take out the micro-SD card, insert it into a card reader and install via the card reader.
