When grow up, travel to other country and discover how much more you are paying, than your heart cold by half.

But Singapore not very big, public transport quite good, so owning a car may be a want and not a must.

Young people must consider very carefully, don't end up with big debt...... than delay marry.......no children ...etc ..etc.

You must be pulling his leg - 500 for petrol? You must be clocking more than 3k pm.

I spend about $300 a month and my annual mileage about 32k for auto sunny.

Traveling habit = Home to work on weekdays, with the occasional dinner somewhere near, and anywhere ranging from town to jb on weekends.

Ride: Feb 09 (1k coe) Aveo5 MT

Per Month:

Petrol = 100 (Msia oil = RM50 x 4 weeks)

Cashcard = 30 (topup ~50 every 2 months)

Car Loan = 260 (can dump in 15k to remove this completely)

Coupon = 20

Home Carpark = 90

Every 6 months:

Servicing = 150 (AD servicing, Aug in jb, Feb in sg, warranty still valid)

Road tax = 300

Every 1 year

Insurance = ~1.5k (0% NCD)

This is as cheap as you can get to car ownership, even cheaper than OPC, unless of cos it breaks down when it gets older.

saving me many $$ for my next better ride... [drivingcar] [drivingcar] [drivingcar]

Your thread is going to invite the howlians to come in and show off again. There is already a thread that talks about car ownership cost, go find it in General Car Discussion folder.
