Lightningbolt Neutral Newbie January 12, 2010 Share January 12, 2010 there is a car wash operator that used to operate at the caltex along sembawang road...the one that sells memberships..$50 for 26 washes (about $2 each). they have closed at that caltex and has moved to 2 places near mandai. one is at picket and rail building at woodlands road (morning till 7pm), the other just further down at yew tee industrial estate also along woodlands road (7pm - 7am). for only $2, i find their car wash standard very good value! no need to worry about lighting at night cos even for the night wash at yew tee, they wash in a brightly lit garage indoor. am selling them cos their new locations are too far for me. i bought $100 worth when they were at sembawang (i dont stay there, but my gf does, so its very convenient to wash my car there), never expected them to move to woodlands road shortly after...and i myself stay at serangoon area. so i can actually do with washing my car myself more often instead of wasting petrol and time to drive so far. i still have about 50 of the coupons left ( i bought 52 coupons...only used 2 cos its really too far for me!!) anybody interested to buy any quantity, or want to try a few times before committing, please reply to this post with your contact. i will sell at cost...not looking to earn from this as just want to reduce my inconvenience. no expiry date so dont worry..there is no catch! Fabby27 Neutral Newbie January 12, 2010 Share January 12, 2010 anyone know where still have automated car wash? the only one i know has an 'auto' feature to it is the shell next to the church along the MRT line close to AMK station. it's manual wash followed by a drive thru spray of 'wax'.. those automated 'spinning mops' are probably extinct in SG already.. and they do more harm den good to paintwork anyway hihi to fellow school mate

Sg2303 2nd Gear January 13, 2010 Share January 13, 2010 (edited) I have tried the car wash at Esso beside Winsor Hotel. In fact it's one of my fav. Quite good and the malay guy is very thorough. Rims are cleaned with separate sponge and whole car sprayed with water, covered with foam before using sponge to run through. 1 car usually takes about 10 mins and only 1 man show most of the time. Of course don't expect too much from the drying part. And it's $5 iirc. Edited January 13, 2010 by Sg2303

Exowraith Neutral Newbie January 13, 2010 Share January 13, 2010 hey fab. im not sure which does more damage to paintwork, manual handwash or auto wash really. their sponges can pick up quite a bit of dirt. still quite fun to have a an auto car wash, guess singaporeans prefer the manual wash

Changky 1st Gear January 13, 2010 Share January 13, 2010 Just had my car washed this morning at spc woodlands. wash was super fast. chinaman splashed a few mugs of water to wet the car then proceeded to foam and wipe. no wonder there are scratches on the paintwork! He wiped the car in front dry with the cloth that was also used to wipe mine afterwards without washing or rinsing. Found my car not very clean; there were still some stubborn stains remained. i think nothing can beat my own washing except that sometimes for convenience you have to let them wash to make the car presentable esply nowadays there are occasional rain. Tubalog Neutral Newbie January 30, 2010 Share January 30, 2010 For those in the east, the Caltex at east coast road is so far my favourite. They are quite thorough but the queue can be quite long and i think they charge extra during CNY. The shell station opposite is good enough for me too if I do not want to queue. The SPC at siglap is disappointing. Tried twice but the foam is definitely not enough, cannot even cover the whole windscreen (the one at caltex cover until cannot see anything in front). best one i experienced is the one at muar!! wash until swee swee, vacuum and charge only rm8! got attap house "lounge" somemore!! ↡ Advertisement
