Ken4555 1st Gear January 18, 2010 Author Share January 18, 2010 wats the difference if you do a change on a stock sunny... compared to a maybe done exhaust, air filter, plugs, coil boosters... etc... thanks...
Nmnhnlm Clutched January 18, 2010 Share January 18, 2010 !!!NEVER TOUCH YOUR CRANK PULLEY!!! If you really want, lighten your flywheel.

Nmnhnlm Clutched January 18, 2010 Share January 18, 2010 can I know, why not? =p Its because of the harmonic dampener. Most cars have their harmonic dampener attached to the crank pulley. IF you remove it, it can cause crankshaft failure. EXTREMELY risky and not advisable for that tiny bit of performance increase. If you want, replace other pulleys like power steering or water pump instead.

My advise is to save up the $$$ and drop in Turbo instead. If you want coil boosters, go for CDI ones like MSD, Accel, Crane etc....

I kinda heard many people changing to aluminium crank pulley and till date, noone actually complain but keep saying pick-up is much better. But for that kinda price, I think not worth buying it..~

If really want to change, I would pick on flywheel instead.

Sunny has no sporty handling watsoever... i took quiet awhile to stiff my sunny up properly...
SaNibOy Clutched January 19, 2010 Share January 19, 2010 I used a lightweight crank pulley before but sold it off after a few months as i saw the post one of the forummers here tat his lightweight pulley snapped at the centre. Yes, pickup defnitely a bit better but it does not add horsepower. Now, im using a stainless steel under pulley. Same effect except u need to change the beltings cos its smaller in size. Bu at least i can b rest assured stainless steel won't break like tose "aircraft aluminium" ones.

Nmnhnlm Clutched January 19, 2010 Share January 19, 2010 Hi Bro. I don't meant to sound offending but I seriously don't think you should spend $$$ to improve your car's performance. The reason is that the Sunny is not designed for high performance and its going to cost you alot to improve the performance. Thus no point.
SaNibOy Clutched January 19, 2010 Share January 19, 2010 omg break?????? must be really hard driving?... stainless steel? more for visual shiok? and smaller?? tune again? Nope. He went for a trip up north. Imagine his lightweight crank pulley give way in the middle of the journey? Scary rite? Y not just go for light mods; free up ur exos flow. At least worth the money spent.

Most of these aftermarket products do not go thru adequate testing before they are put on sale.
SaNibOy Clutched January 19, 2010 Share January 19, 2010 No use also. Marketing tactics nowadays r so influential tat buyers just ignore warnings given from ppl who had tried and tested the products. They would stil splurge their money on useless mods anyway.
Zyrofillica 1st Gear January 19, 2010 Share January 19, 2010 easiest and safest mods(in terms of not screwing up your engine) are operating your CAT, changing to free flow muffler, changing to free flow intake, lighten/downsize rims and lighten your car. if you have to do more than that to get the performance you require, then i would rather change car. thats my take. Thus no point. yes do agree.. but am not looking at making it comparable to rexes and evos... but a century sprint of like 8-9 seconds would be great.. that is ofcourse WITHOUT touching the gear box and tyre sizes.. so as to maintain comfortable cruising speeds.. so far only the old school v-tecs can provide these kinda set-ups.... normal driving ok shiok... full blast also shiok...
