Guest66 Neutral Newbie January 2, 2007 Share January 2, 2007 (edited) Hi. n Happy New Year Greetins to all. Care to share how is the performance difference after installing the Lighten pulley? ANy loss lag when going upslope or battery weakening? Cheers... Edited January 2, 2007 by Guest66
Jlim Clutched January 2, 2007 Share January 2, 2007 i installed one dunno what brand one, no feeling.
Dalenico 1st Gear January 2, 2007 Share January 2, 2007 I m driving an 1.6Altis and installed Jpn Made RPM (Brandname). This comes with the harmonic damper, which might a concern to you as the stock comes with one. Some aftermarket LCP do not come with this and it is cheaper. THe response is definitely much faster than before from still.
Thug Clutched January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 Hi there..the crank pulley u mention, any known web site about it? How much u paid for it? Am interested to know more. Cheers Happy New Year!
Silver_z 1st Gear January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 There was a discussion on this issue before. Do a search for it. Seems to be negative reviews, such that it is true that car feels more responsive but destroys the balance of the conrod resulting in a "piang" engine. Replica_77 Neutral Newbie January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 Lightened crank pulley is a good mod. however, problem is cannot get a butt feel on whether there's any improvement. It doesn't increase the bhp output from your engine, however, what happens is your whp will increase due to less losses when power is being transmitted to the wheels. There is definitely improvement, cos I'm using RPM lightened crank pulley and my 0 - 100 km/h timing has improved. However, do note that unlike throttle body, this will not give u any "feeling". hope this helps

Guest66 Neutral Newbie January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 (edited) WOW! an aftermarket T6 LWCP with harmonic dampener?! mus hav c ost a lot as this needs to be counter balanced for factory specs. Usually stock pulley is heavy due to the rubber(Harmonic dampener) sandwiched inbetween & most aftermarket pulleys are w/o it to save weight & reduce parasitic loss. Well, I am negative on LWCP as there is concern to ur engine resonance n vibes plus not enough load on Alternator..leading to weak charge..etc but perhaps.it varies from car to car. Did u do a volt check to see if ur batt is cranking 14volts still ? I am on stock pulley but yes..throttle body has been SAMCOed & beefed up.I like to keep my ride ASAP ( As Stock As Possible).haha jus my 0.2cts. I m driving an 1.6Altis and installed Jpn Made RPM (Brandname). This comes with the harmonic damper, which might a concern to you as the stock comes with one. Dalenico 1st Gear January 4, 2007 Share January 4, 2007 Hi Guest 66, I did not do the voltage test. Apparently, this is quite popular among the Wish/Altis car enthuiasts. The LWCP is of the same model. It costs slightly less than S$300 including installation. I feel safer with the harmoic damper,as advised by many forumers and the workshop boss.I asked for one with the harmonic damper before and it is slightly more than $200.So why not pay slightly more? Our fella forumer Replica77 is dead right about it. It does not really increase the BHP or torque. However, the throttle becomes much lighter and responsive. Unlike before, when I stepped onto the accelerator, I can only see the RPM goes up with alot of noises ( I am using the Simota Aerofoam as well) from standstil, the speedo climbs up but not as fast as now. The RPM is also lower now when the speedo climbs up and the noise is lesser now.. The weight of the aftermarket LWCP is about 670gm compared to the stock 2kg. If I am not wrong, there is a lower inertia to drive the alternator, water pump etc..which translates to faster response....
Dalenico 1st Gear January 4, 2007 Share January 4, 2007 Hi Replica_77, What is your ride? Does your LWCP come with Harmonic damper and what is its brand? Right now, I am enjoying my ride very much in the city driving.
Replica_77 Neutral Newbie January 8, 2007 Share January 8, 2007 Honda city vtec. brand is same as your bro price is slightly higher than Alutec, but difference is the harmonic damper (the rubber thingy).
Replica_77 Neutral Newbie January 8, 2007 Share January 8, 2007 my ride crank @ 14 volt. anyway, modern engines are mostly internally balance already. but, stock is good

It is not only lightened but is also made smaller compared with the stock. Pretty expensive stuff from US. Regards, ↡ Advertisement
