Am looking at the brochure I got from my Jan 2010 trip..

Did not state the seasons, but below are the info.

Tel: 09-5819087

Fax: 09-5523482

would like to bring my son to this beach resort and experience the turtle season. anyone been there before? easy access?

Bro, heard from the guide that the turtle season tour is usually at nite, and you have to be extremely quiet.

Even during the off-peak season which I went, they were kind enough to show me some hatchlings..

But again, have to be extremely quiet..

Was told that there was a time when the visitors were noisy and this stirred emotions in the hatchlings and they 'killed' themselves.. [:/]

hi.. i stayed at legends last year, then thereafter i went to sign up for a tour package (I can't recall how much) in the hotel. The tour operator said he will call me in the hotel room at night once the turtle was sighted on the beach. indeed, the tour operator called us in the room at about 9:30pm... thereafter we met him at the lobby and off to the beach. the tour was quite alright.. right from the turtle hatching the eggs until the turtle go back to the sea... takes about 1 hour plus. In the meantime, u can also experiencing retrieving the eggs under the watchful eyes of those officials.

I dun think now is the current season.

hope this helps.

fyi, the swiss garden a bit too far off from the beach to see turtle - but dunnno whether the tour operator will charge more or that.

Hi, sorry to dug out an old thread: [wave]

I read that the season is around Jun to Aug. But does that mean in other months, example in March school holidays, there will be totally no turtle swam ashore to lay eggs?

And the turtle sanctuary outside Club Med is open at night...what can we see there at night?

Depends on ur luck. But during that season time frame is turtle egg laying time.

At night is for turtle watching and release of hatchlings. If u want to view the exhibits, go during the day time.

See more info here : http://www.malaysiavacationguide.com/turtle-sanctuary.html

Been to this place twice, both during the day. Unable to wake up in the middle of the night to watch. U can check with the centre during the day if there is any tour during that night.

Otherwise just call any tour operators at the hotel, they will bring u to other spots to see turtle lay eggs.

Not sure. I never called.

My bro did book the whole sampan there to watch firefly for RM200+. If u like a small group, let the operator know. Otherwise have to wait for more ppl to fill up the spaces before the tour commences.
