Neutral Newbie

Finally they announced the winning bidder for the upcoming Changi Motorsports Hub.

S$330 million investment!? Purely privately-funded, fwah that's a LOT of money man. How quickly can they make it profitable?

The permanent race track will be able to host any race except F1 - so F1 will remain on our street circuit?

Anyway, it's said to be ready by end next year - for 41-ha, possible?

Anyone here excited about this? You think this will help our local motorsports scene improve more?

It's not a high rise condo!

Most likely jsut two storey kind of longish building like the F1 pit ( Which also build very fast).

Laying the track is even simpler.

So I think early 2012 is possible!

It seems very commercial leh. A lot of extras not related to motorsport. (Most likely to generate $$)

Fingers crossed though. Maybe we can even have a Top Gear Singapore show, using the track. [:p]

It's a first china one-make open wheel race series by Geely. you can try google, i heard it is relatively cheap to start off motorsport career there.

just like all things in sg, its the real estate portion that will make all the money... leases to car shops, workshops, entertainment complexes, food courts, etc.... the race component is just an upside.

When many many years ago... asked to build a race track in sg... they declined... now looking at neighbour's results... they finally decided to get a piece of the pie too... still the same monkey theory...
