yo guys, as above, any 1 going to lost world of tambun in ipoh this weekend? might wanna travel together leh...

 

any1 knows the area there well? any cheap and good hotels to recommend?

Sorry to break it to you bro, but this is Ipoh, you will be lucky to find a good hotel period, let alone "cheap n good".

 

Seriously though, based on past experience, book your hotel early - they seem to be rather limited in Ipoh.

 

Lost World is good - the Tiger show is well worth seeing.

 

Its also well sign posted so you shouldn't have a problem.

 

Have you driven up before? Is a nice drive, especially the last part though the hills.

 

Shopping is also pretty cool there....lotsa bargains.

That is a boutique hotel just next to lostworld, can't remember the name. Can try google map.

i have not drive there b4 leh.. tomo shall be my 1st time driving there. anyway, is there really hills tt i got to pass by?

 

any shopping centre to recommend except tesco extra, tesco and jusco?

For shopping you can try Ipoh Parade it is similar in size to our local PArkway Parade. Not too sure if you're equipped with GPS, if so you could explore the various eatery like the Bean Sprout Chicken. Also you can the local night market.

Yeah been there last year..combo it togther w Cameron Highlands.

Nice place to visit..as same as sunway in KL but smaller.

Stayed in Regalodge..slightly further from lost world but ok lah got gps to guide me.

Is Regalodge a good hotel? i mean as in cleanliness and the service they provide....

Hotel is clean..but find the room tad too small.

LCD tv n the rest is same..parking wise a bit problem..

their car park is samll..sometimes come back late need to park

outside e road.

Food wise nothing to shout abt.

tat time they give us vouchers for spa but only male

 

Cost wise u can check their webbie cos i forget as e booking was done by wifey.

Stay in Regalodge last dec, Room is clean and service is ok oni.

As for carpark, if u return late at night , just let the counter staff know that u parked outside the hotel entrance public carpark and they will help to put some parking coupon. Rm rate I booked was RM130, book direct from the hotel website.

 

There is a new hotel at the rear exit of Regalodge, think it is Tower Regency.

Went to lost world after my genting trip last year. Very nice drive with superb scenery. There's a famous restaurant at town with eel and nasik lemak as their speciality. Definitely worth the trip!
